I use research informed methods to help with anxiety, depression, insomnia, identity, and body image. Our intimate relationships require time and attention, and you might need help to build empathy and learn new skills to manage conflict. My Resources pages have information on therapy approaches I use, reading suggestions, and mindfulness audio and links.

My blog has a few articles I've written for clients on issues and questions that frequently come up such as how to address insomnia and developing a financial wellness plan.
Services
I'm a licensed psychotherapist in the San Francisco East Bay Area with nearly 20 years of therapy and social work experience. Beginning in the 1990's, I've worked with individuals, couples, teens, and families in private practice as well as a variety of community mental health and social service settings.
Folks seek counseling with me for a range of concerns including: making health related behavior changes; body image; anxiety, insomnia, and depression; and making and keeping intimate relationships. There is specialized, effective treatment available if you suffer from anxiety, worry, perfectionism, or insomnia.
A focused and collaborative relationship with a caring professional can be a life-changing experience. I help people increase freedom and joy and reduce sadness and stress. I use a client-centered and strengths based approach to help with a variety of concerns and issues. About half my clients at any given time are struggling with anxiety, perfectionism, depression, or insomnia.
If you think you might have Anxiety, or have been recommended to be evaluated by a therapist from your physician or loved ones, you might be nervous about taking steps to get help. You're not alone. Many people with anxiety have been suffering for many years, often since childhood. People wait too long, when treatment is more difficult.
Bring more ease to your relationship with money. A financial therapist helps individuals and couples who feel stuck with their money. Even after you consult books, financial planners, and debt counselors, you may find that you're not able to apply what you're learning. For most of us, our decisions about money are rooted in our emotional mind.
