I hope you find it informative and fun, which is the same feeling my staff and I want you to have when you visit the office. I grew up in Kentucky and still love my Kentucky Wildcats! I attended college at Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky and graduated in 1995 with my BA in Biology. After college I entered the University of Kentucky, College of Dentistry and graduated in 1999.
The first birthday is the time for the first dental visit. Waiting until all primary teeth are erupted is not necessary and is too late for children that are at high risk for early childhood decay. Do not wait until your child is in pain or you notice problems. You can make the first visit to the dentist enjoyable and positive.
For more information concerning pediatric dentistry, please visit the website for the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. The pediatric dentist has an extra two to three years of specialized training after dental school, and is dedicated to the oral health of children from infancy through the teenage years.
If the procedure was in the lower jaw the tongue, teeth, lip and surrounding tissue will be numb or asleep. If the procedure was in the upper jaw the teeth, lip and surrounding tissue will be numb or asleep. Often, children do not understand the effects of local anesthesia, and may chew, scratch, suck, or play with the numb lip, tongue, or cheek.

After sleepless nights for a week from a child with pain. And being a one income family dealing with life and finacial strain during a pandemic, a dental emergency was defintly not something I could handle today. I called and they got my child in today and even though she refused to get xrays they were more than kind. . Instead of letting us just leave broken they gave me so much help to find a place and even offered to do a try again after the antibiotics. This is one of the last places out there that cares and has no judgement.

After going to Kid Grins for years with both my kids we will not be back. They rescheduled us 3 times. Once due to Edina being shut down, once because their lack of planning and the 3rd time due to the Dr. having to be home with her child. I was completely fine with the rescheduling as all reasons were valid however when calling them back on the 3rd time they made it seem like it was our fault and it wasn't and all they could give us was a 7am appointment. I took it because I wanted to get the kids in. We were 10 minutes late however their policy states 15 minutes is the max before having to reschedule

This place is great. We brought our toddler in with a chipped tooth. The dentist went through all the options with us and what to expect in the coming weeks.
Our toddler ended up later having an infected tooth. The dentist and staff were so compassionate through the process of the tooth removal. Afterwards the dentist made herself available on the weekend for questions.
I can't say enough great things about Kids Grin.

Brought my 3 yr old here today for her first dental appointment and I was blown away by the incredible staff and ambiance. My daughter was very nervous about her first visit but the environment was so welcoming and the dental assistants\dentist knew exactly how to keep kids as ease and engaged in the process. Highly recommend this place to any parent. Excellent.

I have been taking my three children here for over a year and could not be more pleased. Dr Amey and her team are always kind and respectful to my kids. They have had to have several procedures whereas a previous dentist in the area would not let me be with my child during any procedure. Here they encouraged me to stay with my child and comfort them during a somewhat stressful time. My nine year old keeps reminding me to make his next appt for his cleaning. He actually told me he likes going to the dentist which is a clear indication of how he is treated in her office.(I am sure the little treat

Today was my son's very first dentist appointment--ever. He's 3 and though we talked through what would likely happen at the appointment, I had no idea how he would react to someone else's hands in his mouth. He hates it even when I help brush his teeth, much less a stranger. I couldn't be happier with our experience today.
From the playplace in the waiting room (that he didn't want to come out of) to the gentle way Marisol the hygienist talked him through all her equipment (gloves, mask, toothbrush, water squirter, suction straw), he was at ease instantly--and so was

We have been taking all of our children to CDC for over 10 years. The service and dedication to the kids is fantastic. The kids actually enjoy their visit. Who wouldn't with a video on the way in and a novelty toy on the way out. It's always painless to schedule and we are in and out as promised. Our 20 minute drive to the office is definitely worth the trip!
