To be honest. The staff is nice. The food is horrible, tasteless, not up to any of Bay area standards.
I came here in 2013, it was not good.
In 2021 decided to give them another chance: bad decision, such ANOTHER disappointment..
FALAFEL too oily, dolmas tasteless, meats underseasonned, Salad 's dressing too sweet.. and I can keep on and on and on..
Mediterranean food is so much better than that.
I can't comprehend why this place is packed every weekend.. must be the bottomless mimosas and location? But for real, food is really bad. Mr owner, you can do so much better. Definitely won

I worked at this place (the cafe they share space with) for 3 months. The owner uses leftover veggies from farmer's market and reuses the buffet food for 2-3 days. They also take tips away from their workers. The owner sleeps inside the restaurant and/or makes other employees do it. The last of my work I saw a rat bigger than a squirrel.

I came across Bacheesos when I was visiting the 1888 coffee stand that's part of the same venue. When I visited, all ordering for Bacheesos also took place at the walk-up coffee stand. Bacheesos used to be our date night go to restaurant. Their brunch buffet is where we took everyone. Then we moved away. Now, a few years later, I work around the corner. The meat wraps are amazing. Then there is the damned "Bacheesos Salad." This monstrosity seems simple enough, romaine, tomatoes, bell peppers, Greek olive mix, Bulgarian (?) Feta, and possibly a lemon vinaigrette. With the salad comes about a half dozen lamb tomahawks that are possibly the tenderest things ever. This tiny salad usually lasts me 3 meals, and I'm an eater!! Ah, the pressure of the weekend brunch buffet. You've felt it, haven't you? When a restaurant pulls out all the stops on their buffet, of course the staff does everything they can to push the buffet on you (photo: http://bit.ly/3bIrqV8). After all, it's only $15.90 which isn't a bad deal for an all-you-can-eat set-up. Jamie W. went for it because he thought it was a bargain, and even though he didn't overdo it. I have to admit there were lots of appetizing items on his plate.

This is one of our favorite spots to enjoy a fantastic meal that is both fresh and delicious but also in the healthier side as well, with its assortment of fruit and dishes having vegetables in most. Right next to lake Merritt, you could easily enjoy a meal here and go for a walk afterwards. Outside of the food, I have to also mention that the owner is very personable as well. It was a nice sunny day and I was feeling some Mediterranean food. There was a a group of us from work so i suggested Bacheesos since some coworkers weren't familiar with the dishes. Parking is metered street but usually isn't hard to find during the weekdays. Location is great and the service even better.
There were five of us and we were seated immediately upon arrival. Server was friendly and very attentive. He answered all the questions we had about the dishes. The place was very clean and buffet was well maintained.

Super fresh and delicious Mediterranean buffet on Grand Ave.! I planned to go for weekend brunch but I recently found out they have a weekday lunch buffet so I went on a beautiful Friday.
They have a great location and a pleasant front patio area. We arrive right when it opened so we can get first dibs on the freshly made food. I normally don't like buffets because of the way I feel after but this one is definitely worth trying.
The food was vibrant and very appetizing- there was a nice variety of vegetables, entrees, and appetizers. I had several full plates and was pretty satisfied

For $15 per person the buffet is pretty good. The ambiance has a nice Mediterranean vibe, with a wine bar, small flat screen TVS, and embroidered pillows lining bench seating along the wall. There is outside seating as well. The buffet has lots of vegetarian options, and it looks like they are constantly replenishing dishes. I believe you can also order items off the menu. The service was attentive.

I came in here around 3 pm and there were only a few table. I wanted to sit inside, but they said that they were setting up for dinner so I sat outside instead. It was a buffet kinda of place, 15 per person, and drink was a separate fee. What surprising to me was that as soon as I got my first plate, I was present with the bill. I thought it was weird, but I gave them my card before I ate anyway.
There were a lot of healthy choices.
I love the boil or poach beet.
There was some kind of stew chicken with vegetables, it was really good.
Rice and some kind of meat patties was nicely season and enjoyable

Best in Oakland. They have a buffet nightly with all the best foods. This place is a real gem. Their menu is outstanding as well. My second time here this is my go to for Mediterranean meals. Ahmed was my server both times he helped us pick our meals. He is always spot on!! That's the other reason I returned because he has great energy and smiles no matter how busy this place is.
I returned here for another great dinner. Anlly M. Was my server she walked me to the food bar and she explained each food item to me! I was convinced the all you can eat was the right thing for me. She was great

We had been meaning to try out Bacheesos and so happy we finally had the chance today!
Place is really big with ample indoor seating, bar area as well as few tables outside!
Staff is super friendly and helpful - kudos! Place itself is nice but could be bit cleaner.
Food was really good, wouldn't say spectacular but really good food for the portions and price. Can't beat $15 per head for buffet!

Iļø love this place, Iļø enjoy both of their locations in the East Bay area. Iļø love coming here for the buffet, great selection of Mediterranean favorites and a other popular dishes that Iļø have had one to many times over enjoyed. Come with a big appetite because your going to need it for the buffet.
