Ahren joined the Sharkus team in 2019. She is originally from Oregon, moved around on a few other adventures, and ultimately returned to her roots. She has worked in the dental field for 10 years and loves learning about everything related to the dental world. She is very excited to be working and assisting others in her hometown.

The American Dental Association (ADA) recommends you visit your local family dentist for a checkup at least twice per year.
Periodontal disease is an infection, resulting in the progressive destruction of the tissue and bone supporting the teeth. If not properly treated, this disease can severely affect your oral health. Systemic Diseases - diabetes, cardiovascular disease, stroke, blood cell disorders, HIV infections and AIDS.
Lack of regular brushing and flossing leaves small food particles wedged between the teeth that can collect bacteria and emit chemicals, like hydrogen sulfide -the same compound that gives rotten eggs their characteristic smell. Brushing alone will not cure certain cases of halitosis (bad breath). Dry Mouth is an ideal breeding ground for poor oral health which can lead to not only bad breath but also cavities and mouth infections.
A semi-annual oral cancer screening needs to become routine in managing your overall health. We genuinely care about your well-being so we offer complimentary screenings during your exam. Oral cancer most commonly involves the lips or the tongue. However, it may also occur on the cheek lining, floor of the mouth, gums (gingiva), or roof of the mouth (palate).

I have seen the professionals at Sharkus Hometown Dentistry for about 6 years and they are great! I go to my 6-month appointments and I also got a great crown that hasn't failed for many years and mouth guard that doesn't fall, my teeth health is in good hands. They're very friendly and my son also loves going there.

Id been having bad experiences with my previous dentist office (going through multiple dentists with different plans for a implant, continuous billing issues, no communication..) and so I switched to Sharkus, and literally every concern was corrected. I immediately got great communication for a plan to get my implant, great referral to oral surgeon who works frequently with Dr Sharkus, billing/charges have always been told me to up front - so I wasn’t surprised with bills down the road.
