Eight years later, we headed back to the west coast to soak up the sun! Besides photography, my loves include our daughter Luna, four-legged children Benny and Fettuccini, sushi, and the beach. Oh, and if there's ever a photo booth around, you can probably find me in it! I am a Santa Barbara wedding photographer but travel all over the world to document authentic love stories.
I grew up in Santa Cruz in a large family. As soon as I graduated from high school, I headed down to Santa Barbara to attend the Brooks Institute of Photography. Then I followed my chef husband Cosmo to Chicago, where we wore significantly more layers. Since they're sometimes my husband's only day off (that's the life of a chef!), we lay around with our dog Benny, go for a long walk down to the ocean, and then have a little date night.

Family has always been an important part of my life, and I think that's why I find weddings to be so inspiring. It's a time when the people we love all come together to celebrate the beginning of a new family-the next generation of love! So cheesy, but so true! I see it as my job to not only capture your unique connection as a couple, but also the support of all the people there to celebrate with you.

We hired Julia to shoot our wedding party photos. We read her reviews and also got a recommendation from our designer. We just got back the photos and we are blown away. We had a sense that Julia was going to be good as she was everywhere capturing our guest.. Her energy and sixth sense about where to be or what to shoot came thru in the end results. We, our family and friends are all ecstatic about the photos. Especially the clarity, the framing and how natural they came out. There are so many wonderful things to say about Julia. On the talent side of things, she is truly gifted. She has such a beautiful, clean, artistic aesthetic that I just absolutely adore. She is able to capture so many beautiful, candid moments that sum up all of the emotions you experience on your big day. Looking through your photos will be like reliving your day each moment at a time. We had a plethora of gorgeous photos to choose from; it's so difficult to choose only a select few you want to frame around your home! This is a problem you want to have while viewing your wedding photos.

I saw Julia's work on Style Me Pretty and a few other wedding sites--then went to check out her awesome (and witty) blog and knew I had to contact her. After talking to almost 10 photographers (yes, picky, I know), I knew instantly within the first 5 minutes over the phone that Julia would be the one. Julia did an outstanding job on our wedding photos and we could not be happier! Julia came highly recommended to us by our wedding planner, Megan Estrada of North Shore Weddings & Events, and when my mom & I first met with Julia we both knew right away that we wanted to work with her. Not only were we extremely impressed by her work when she showed us some of her sample wedding albums (all of them absolutely gorgeous!), but we were equally as impressed by Julia as a person-she is very friendly, smart and the ultimate professional.

Julia is amazing!!!
I cannot believe how lucky my wife and I were to be introduced to her. She captured every moment at our wedding and was such a blast to have with us on our wedding day. If she were not taking pictures, she would have been on the top of our wedding invite list.

We absolutely loved worked with Julia and couldn't have been luckier to find her. From the first meeting she made us feel comfortable and understood our vision. We had such fun spending time with her. By the end of the process it just felt like we were hanging out with a good friend. She did a great job mangaging the craziness of the day (including an over-eager family) and made me feel complete at ease. Most importantly, the pictures are over the top incredible and make me tear up every the time I look at them. Shes the best!

Julia is not only an incredibly talented photographer, but one of the loveliest people I have ever met. I don't think anyone else could have made our wedding photos more magical. Julia was able to capture the essence of our relationship through her camera lens and it was her calming presence that allowed us to truly be ourselves in front of her. If you are on the hunt for a wedding photographer, your search ends here. Hire, Julia, plain and simple. I am a commercial designer but I also do photography as a hobby on the side, so you can bet when I was looking for our wedding photographer, they had to be top notch. At first glance, Julia had a great website, her photos were crisp, clear and the color was right on. She doesn't give in to filters or over-editing, which I loved. I can't say enough good things about Julia's photography. She's absolutely amazing! My husband and I got married on June 29th and Julia photographed our wedding. We met her back in February and immediately hit it off. She understood our style and what we were looking for and this definitely translated into the pictures she took of our wedding. We worked with Julia to shoot our engagement photos (in 3 separate sessions) and then our day-of, getting ready, pre-ceremony wedding shoot. Her style is so romantic, but fresh and modern at the same time. She edits photos extremely fast and delivers them in professional manner.

Julia has the magic touch! I am religious about photographing my boys at each birthday. After several photo sessions at other studios -- I found Julia, she is like a breath of freah air. She has a true gift with children. She took newborn photos of my son that I will treasure forever. She captured those precious and fleeting days when he was so new and fresh. I only wish I had known about her for my first son's birth! Each time Julia takes pictures of our family, we come away with something special that I will treasure for a lifetime.
