A beautiful home with all the fine trimmings of Jaipuri artwork, handsomely carved wooden chairs, tables with brass and copper inlays imported and custom-made (like our food!) Before placing your order, please inform your server if a person in your party has a food allergy. Consuming raw or undercooked meats, poultry, seafood, shellfish or eggs may increase your risk of foodborne illness.
An exciting mix of Beetroot, Onion & scallions with a secret vegetable crunch napped with fresh turmeric straws in a chick-pea flour. Served with sweet & tangy Mango tamarind chutney. Inspired by my visit to St. John, a refreshing twist on this legendary dish using my island ingredients. A celebrated Rice dish of organic apples and dry fruits fragrant with whole spices and adorned with saffron.

They are so rude and incredibly unpleasant. The food is good and that is the only reason that they can get away with charging the amount of money they charge, it's essentislly theft. I have eaten here a lot over the years and every time the food is great but the owners are so incredibly unpleasant it's repulsive.
If the food wasn't good I would never support this restaurant. That's probably why they get away with charging so much and being so gross. They are also often seen being rude and unfair to their employees.

India House used to be the best in the Valley. I don’t know what happened, but we ordered takeout today, and I have rarely been more disappointed.
For $6, you should get more than four pakoras. For $19 per dish, the vegetables shouldn’t be undercooked, and the paneer shouldn’t be like styrofoam. The amount of food was overall about two thirds of what I’d expect, especially at that price point.
I like India House, but this was unexpected, and I hope they come back.

Coming back to India House after more than 17 years, I found the food not just as good but better than I remember. As a loyal patron for years before moving away, it brings a tear to my eye that this restaurant is both still thriving and still the best Indian food I've ever had. Thank you, India House.

I got the brussel sprouts / sweet potato appetizer and it was delicious! And it was such a generous portion that I made it my entire meal. Everyone at our dinner table loved their food. The aesthetics were very ornate, decorative and cozy. The servers were friendly and professional. We will come back next time we are in town!

The positive - it has a great dine out ambiance. And they serve booze.
Negatives - it is pricey, but they won't even provide you a glass of water unless asked. They serve in throw away type plastic plates. The food is terrible. I ordered hyderabadi chicken biriyani. Leave hyderabadi, the thing that was served to me was not biriyani of any type! It had mustard seeds, spinach, curry leaves and potatoes in it! In what parallel universe they put potato in hyderabadi biriyani? No wonder there weren't a single Indian dining in that restaurant.

I almost felt sorry for our friend who excitedly brought us to his favorite Indian restaurant. Yes, it had good outdoor seating and an excellent waiter, but that was all. No tapster for the table. Paper plates and plastic tableware.. The salad dressing tasted like plain olive oil and was sent back to be redone. Still not "fabulous" as he remembered it. Their signature mango chicken dish tasted bland and the lamb was barely ok. I've tasted better garlic naan (just one piece for $3.95.) My beer was $8 and the food generally expensive. With just two mains and 3 beers the total including tip was $110

India house was a pleasant dining experience and if you like Indian food, you should try it out. The menu was well developed, the staff attentive, and the owner probably charming. I was passing through so he didn't stop at my table, but all the tables around me were seated with regulars. He knew them and greeted them. How wonderful is that?
Like so many Indian restaurants ice been to, the exterior us shabby but they interior is intricately decorated. It was very fine!
It's true that India house is not handicap friendly. The seating makes the most of a small space and the bathrooms are upstairs

Cool ambiance and beautifully decorated .... the hostess was really nice and welcoming.
HOWEVER!!!!!! Food...food was anything but Indian ... I mean it’s good food for Americans looking for Indian food.... but Indians / Pakistanis steer clear.
Every thing was sweet. Dal .. chili chicken ... paneer tikka ... kadahi paneer.... everything was sweet. The garlic rosemary naan was an abomination.
The whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth..... and well it was expensive as well. ......
2 stars for the good service and the nice hostess.
