All of us encounter problems in living at some point in our lives. Sometimes, those problems interfere with our ability to function at home, work, or school or in other important areas of life. They can have a negative effect on our relationships with others and even on how we view ourselves. If this is happening to you or someone in your family, counseling can help you regain your footing and set you back on your path.
Children and adults who struggle with ADHD experience difficulties both at work and at school. They find it very difficult to succeed, because their brains will not allow them to focus. In fact, for many with these disorders the harder they try to concentrate the more their brains relax and become unfocused.
We've heard it said, if you've met one child with Autism, you've met one child with Autism. Each child on the Spectrum has a unique set of talents, strengths, needs, and challenges. We work with parents and children in Virginia Beach to address individual concerns and provide practical suggestions and training tailored to the needs of your child and your family.
Your mood is your internal emotional experience of your world and all things in it. It affects the way you think, feel, and behave. It impacts the way you interact with others, the way you think about things, and how you respond to problems. Sometimes, mood disorders develop and severely impact the way you perceive life, relationships, and even your sense of who you are and your self-worth.

I went here for about 3 years. My therapist had to drop me suddenly after an issue with insurance. I am considered high priority due to severe bipolar yet many of her dropped patients received new therapists within 2 weeks. I was told I would be set up with a new therapist in a week. That was almost 2 months ago. Since then I have gone through a manic episode and currently in a depressive one. They absolutely abandoned me and I have no plan on ever returning to this facility. Do not go here if you expect to be treated like one would think they would be after 3 years of progress and a severe mental

Spectrum Psychological has been a huge help to me, and I don't believe I would be where I am today without their help and expertise. Lee is absolutely wonderful and I have been seeing her for over three years now. Heidi is a fantastic therapist who has also helped me greatly. In the past, I have utilized their qEEG brain mapping services and Neurofeedback, performed by Dr. Ellis. This was an eye opening and positive experience. The staff in the office have always been very welcoming and kind. Highly recommend.

Stay as far away as possible! Run as fast as you can. They don't value your time. And when confronted they discharge you. Completely unethical. You wonder why we have a problem with our mental health system. Well right there is an example.
If you don't want to be valued and then when you stand up for yourself yout told this isn't going to work.
Then the owner Dr. Ellis then came in the room and asked me what the issue was and when I explained it again I was told I was unreasonable and he left the room. I was left standing there.
Wow what a way to treat trauma individuals.

Found this deceiving provider Lee for med management through my previous insurance a few years ago. After a few visits come to find out she is the same person a family member has seen for 15+ yrs. Things went well for a long time. Not sure what may have happened in her own personal life, however, taking it out on your mental health patients isnt a very courteous gesture. This provider cancelled many appts, refused to change medications that were creating horrible side effects, and has now completely avoided my mental health and I all together. Left without medication that ive been taking for years

If I could give this place, specifically Dr. Ellis, zero stars I would. I sold everything last year I could in order to pay him $2500 to testify on my son's behalf in a custody case. Once the judge decided last minute to not allow him as an expert witness because he had apparently collected no data during our visits, he kept every single dime. I hope you sleep better at night stealing money from single disabled mothers.

Saw a therapist here once. She spent most of the session telling me about her life. They never billed my insurance. Called and they said they would file. Got a late bill. Called again. Said they would resubmit. Next, received a nasty gram saying I'm going to collections. Just made my 4th unreturned phone call to resolve issue.
