Last night we made reservations and headed over to try out the restaurant. They seated us next to the hostess stand so we asked to be reseated outside like we said in our reservation. We got outside and sat down and nobody came for about 15 minutes. We found the hostess and asked her who our server was. She went to find them for several minutes and then came back herself and explained that she was still looking but here was some water. We had been there 20 minutes already so we walked out. It was very unprofessional and we will never be back there

While staying at the Ben for a couple days we would frequent Proper Grit daily . The hostess Ruth is an amazing person she is very welcoming and accommodating. Jennifer the manager is great and was very accommodating and personable as well . G our waiter was fantastic , prompt and very professional. The food is great and the atmosphere is very comfortable . I highly recommend this restaurant . I will be returning hopefully soon .

I took my friend her for her birthday lunch. We ordered our food with family style in mind (we ordered a few dishes and shared) it's a great way to try more dishes. We loved all of the dishes we choose. This restaurant is beautiful inside and out. Our waiter was amazing. They bring you your check in a book which is a cute touch.

5 star setting within the exquisite hotel lobby, 5 star bar and drinks. The food was good, but nothing over the top. I was disappointed with the salmon, lacked flavor. However, great menu and I feel there's potential for better my next go round. But I'd come here for drinks, sitting by the bar indoor or outdoor, and would be happy. It's really, really beautiful.

Overall good breakfast/brunch. The smoked salmon platter was my favorite item we ordered over the weekend. Since we stayed at The Ben we had brunch here a few times. Servers were friendly but would disappear for a while. On two occasions I needed a server and they took quite a while to return. My husband said the pancakes and French toast (not pictured) were very average. The breakfast potatoes had little flavor but the omelette was tasty. Finally, the truffle croissant sandwich was quite good.
