Seventeen years ago, unknown to each other, we, Viviane and Ana, started planning our professional journey together. At that time, Viviane was living the expat life in Brazil and was progressing along in her counseling career. Ana was an expat in The United States, and was slowly learning to deal with all the issues that come along with being moved out of her comfort zone.
Expatriates face a unique set of challenges adjusting to a new culture: language difficulties, cultural differences, the loss of a close family and friend support system, and workplace differences. We know what it's like. And we can help you adjust and expand. You've got a friend. Addiction can destroy your own life and damage the lives of those around you.
Your body has a remarkable memory. All of life's traumas, abuses, emotional wounding, and strong emotions, like grief and anger, are stored in the cells of your body, like a vault. If not dealt with, chronic tension, emotional and physical pain and disease, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and addiction will result.
I love what I do. And I've been doing it a long time, over 20 years. If you're seeking growth, growth will be inevitable. I enjoy the thrill of witnessing my clients recognize their potential and take charge of their lives, perhaps for the very first time. When your life improves, I am deeply moved, and thankful.
I love working with teenagers. They are open and receptive, quick and willing to change. Because they are young, they have not been destroyed by years and years of undue suffering. Once they realize what needs changing, they approach change enthusiastically. Without therapeutic guidance, the teenage years tend to be the most difficult for teenagers and parents alike.
