Throbbing pain means you likely have an infected tooth. Throbbing is caused by blood pressure rising around a tooth as your body fights infection. A toothache is worse at night because laying down increases head blood pressure. When you're upright the force of gravity works to lower head pressure. Waking up at night from a toothache is a classic sign of an infected tooth.
When you don't brush or floss well bacteria living in your mouth create holes in teeth, cavities! Bacteria turn sugar into an acid that dissolves enamel, the outer layer of teeth. Enamel is hard so the hole starts small and slowly goes deeper. Beneath enamel the tooth is softer, so the hole becomes bigger and deeper fast.
When teeth are sensitive all over your mouth you may have cracked teeth or a loss of enamel from teeth grinding. Many people are unaware of teeth grinding as it usually happens while sleeping. Stress during the day makes jaw muscles hyperactive at night. Muscles contract and apply pressure to teeth.

I had a great appointment with Dr. Kriston. This was my first time in his office and I’m so impressed. Everyone in the office was extremely helpful and friendly. The office is beautiful but what impressed me the most was Dr. Kriston's chair side manner. He spent a lot of time answering all my questions and explaining my options. I heard about Dr. Kriston from co workers and I’m so grateful for their referral.

I grew up going to Dr. Kriston since I can remember, 5 years old? I went off to college and spent a few years in San Diego after college but am back in the area and will remain with Dr. Kriston for as long as I live in the Bay Area!
They truly have the patients best intentions and are great people. I only have great memories as a child going to the dentist, and that is because of these special people.
Last night I got 2 hours of sleep and left an email at 3AM telling them of my pain and they responded a few hours later they could squeeze me in at 10am to help alleviate my pain and get me back

Dr. Kriston is the best cosmetic Dentist in Danville! He's been my dentist for the past 20+ years but I HAVE to give a shout out to him and his team after what they did for me recently. I had an accident and cracked my front teeth as a result Dr. Kriston had to remake my smile. Loosing my front teeth is the worst trauma I’ve ever experienced. Dr. Kriston really came through for me, He calmed me down and reassured me it was going to be ok and I was going to love my new teeth. He was sooo right! I had a wonderful experience for my first time with the entire staff! Kelly was amazing! She was so gentle and explained everything before she did it! Dr. Kriston was very friendly, easy to talk to, and spent a lot of time with me! Very happy! Highly recommend if you are looking for a new dentist and hygienist !! The office itself is also very relaxing and the chairs are soooo comfortable!

Seeing Dr Kriston for over a decade since he had an office in Walnut Creek, more than a few times, he knows how to make me smile better than most - and always does. This Danville location is significant improvement, but the doc has always been super. He has worked on my smile in conjunction with oral surgeons in the area including new bridge work recently - again re-making my smile with a gentle touch and minimal discomfort. Been going to Dr Kriston's for decades after our prior dentist retired long ago. He has a great staff, including a wonderful dental hygienist - all are charming and will make you want to come back for the great experience. Dr Kriston has done several fillings and caps on my teeth - all with a gentle touch and entirely pain free. And all so I could enjoy lunch afterwards - and I did !!! I'm very pleased, to say the least, as I love going to the great restaurants in the area with sparkling teeth to enjoy their food and ambiance.

I have used this dentist, although not always at this office (he was in Walnut Creek for several years) for over 15 years. Dr. Kriston was my general dentist originally, and more recently performed some cosmetic dental work for me as well.
Office: The office is modern, clean, well-lit and has good off street parking.
Work Done: I had several old teeth outfitted with veneers to improve the shape of my smile and also to correct some crossed teeth. Dr. Kriston took great care ensuring that the veneers fit correctly, were shaped correctly, and were the correct color. I never felt that the doctor

Again, I had no problems with the doctor...I think he is a fine and competent man, and if I did not think so I would have given a one star rating. I just think that he could do a better job when staffing his "public face," his reception personnel. I don't know, perhaps it was a busy and stressful day for your receptionist, but I know rude and brusque when I am subjected to it.
