Prior to forming The West Coast Bankruptcy Attorneys, Ryan C. Wood was the Staff Counsel for David Burchard, the Chapter 13 Trustee for the Santa Rosa and San Francisco Divisions of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of California. As Staff Counsel for Mr. Burchard, Mr. Wood conducted Section 341 meetings of the creditors, confirmation hearings and litigated abuses of the bankruptcy process.

As soon as your bankruptcy petition is filed, the Automatic Stay takes effect stopping all collection actions against you including lawsuits, foreclosures, garnishments, bank levies and repossessions.
A Chapter 13 bankruptcy is the reorganization of your debts with the approval of the bankruptcy court. A common myth is that you have to pay back all of your debts in a Chapter 13 bankruptcy case and that is not true. You are supposed to pay back what you can afford. Making the decision to file for bankruptcy was very difficult. The easiest part was retaining Ryan Wood, From the very beginning he was very positive, reassuring and professional yet very personable. I am so sorry that you are looking for support for the need of declaring Bankruptcy, but you are absolutely looking at the right law firm for the job. I am so grateful to Ryan Wood for getting my life under control. Due to the unexpected sudden passing of my husband and finding myself head over heels in debt, there was no way that my one income could cover all of it. Any Bankruptcy can be a trying and stressful time. Growing up it was instilled in my brain from my father that ensuring your credit does not get tarnished. However, we can only control so much.
