Went here during winter restaurant week.
We liked most of the dishes we tried here. Lentil soup was good. Their paneer pesto was our favorite for starters. Their heirloom paneer was great as well. Nariyali chicken prawn and kashmiri chicken gustaba were okay. Loved their rasmalai. It was different. Pretty good service.

The food, the service to the decor and vibe screamed "Michelin Star". This was our second time there.
Today, we ordered the Pre-Fix lunch special in which we were served a three course meal-- appetizer, main course, and dessert.
The Chicken Tikka was incredibly juicy and succulent, and the spicy green dipping sauce gave it the spicy kick it needed to push it over the top from simply great to FANTASTIC. This was only our first course...
We then ordered the Butter Chicken and the Palak Paneer for our main course. We supplemented our main meal with a side of Chickpeas, a warm Whole Wheat Roti and

Came here to celebrate 2 years with my boyfriend and was very, very impressed. I don't even remember checking off that it was our anniversary when we made the reservation but we sat down at our table to find a little sign saying "Happy Anniversary!" A very special touch. We both agreed that the food was great, my boyfriend is Indian so he can be picky when it comes to authentic Indian food but everything we had was awesome (paneer pesto, daal makhani, zucchini kofta and naan) Would highly recommend all three dishes. Lots of veg friendly options and very filling. Finally, and perhaps

My wife and I visited this restaurant on our 3rd Anniversary.
- The Ambience is great and we did get a good table with the server making some arrangements for our special occasion.
- My wife started with the Dragon's coast and it was very refreshing. We also were greeted with lentil soup which was on the house and it is one of the best things I have tasted for a while. The flavor from the soup was insane.
- For the appetizers we got tamarind potato sphere, green peas & edamame tikki and paneer pesto. Potato sphere was nice (nothing amazing nor horrible about it). The tikki was however cooked

This place was amazing. That spinach drink was out of the world. I truly enjoyed it. Thank you to the bar tender. Our food was very good. The appetizers were excellent, we had a tandoori cauliflower and seekh kabob, both tasted perfect. The entree’s Lang rogangosh and chicken curry delicious. The Lacha paratha was tasty as well. Will definitely go back. The o my reason I give 4 stars and not 5, the restaurant was way too quite.

My wife and I have talked about going to Karma for months. We're from out of town, and we finally decided to spend a night in DC and try it out.

Unfortunately, upon arrival in DC, my wife started to exhibit cough, fever, and flu-like symptoms. We decided to be responsible and we called Karma to apologize and let them know we couldn't make it for this reason.

We asked them kindly to make an exception to their $100 cancellation charge due to the circumstances. They promptly declined and offered us the "opportunity" to pick up takeout instead. I let them know that my wife wasn

Karma had been on our list for awhile, so my MIL's birthday in early October provided the perfect opportunity to visit. Everything from start to finish was first-rate. The space itself is large, modern, and beautiful. Service was professional and attentive. We indulged in several cocktails - which were expertly crafted and just pretty to look at - and a bottle of cab sauv. Food wise, we were eager to try as much as possible. The chicken tikka, lamb chop, paneer pesto, seekh kebab, and tamarind photo sphere were solid starters with the latter being quite trendy and IG photo worthy, albeit a

I used to live near this place, but never went in. I finally decided to go to this place with a friend and it did not live up to my expectations. To start, i came here on a Thursday. I had a reservation but the lady told me to wait 5 minutes to be seated. There were tables that were visibly open so not sure why I couldn't be seated. After waiting 10ish minutes, I went over again and asked what the wait was for. She said the restaurant was short staffed and that's why she couldn't seat me. I generally understand this especially with Covid, but being transparent from the start about

Went for dinner with a group of friends. Ordered everything from beer to bourbon to mock tails, appetizers, entrees and bread. Appetizers were awesome, entrees were good except for a couple of traditional ones that were just OK. Staff was very nice and even brought some ice cream and candle for the birthday person. Great experience, good food and nice ambience, not to mention the convenient location.

Lunch, a fantastic one! It was empty, sad, this place is amazing! Feeling like a Maharaja! I was attended to by no less than 3 servers. Beginning with the Tigers Tail, Non-alcoholic mock tails was no joke! A beautiful drink blushed by blood orange juice and christened by the devil with chili water, yum. A pre-fix lunch is available but for tables of two or more. The tandoori cauliflower was a triumph and could easily be an entree. The Naan and the Raaita should be on every table! I'll be back for dinner.

Amazing! I ate here for the first time recently, and it is now one of my favorite restaurants. On top of being some of the best versions of Indian dishes I've ever had, the service was insanely good. My girlfriend and I felt extremely welcomed and well taken care of throughout the meal.

It's a strange sidenote, but I tend to drink a LOT of water, and very quickly, when I eat. It's not uncommon for me to ask for two glasses of water when I first sit down at a restaurant, and even then, wait staff sometimes have a hard time keeping my glasses from emptying. This restaurant left a

Amazing experience at a Bib Gourmand Michelin restaurant. Service was awesome - they happily accommodated us when we were late + had more people than on our rez when they could have easily said no. Food was flavorful and great for sharing across people. Really enjoyed the butter chicken and niligiri chicken as favorites as ours. Was excited for the truffle oil naan, but unfortunately the truffle taste does not really come through; something to note if you are considering ordering it.

Really amazing Modern Indian restaurant in Downtown DC. Service was great - (Thanks James!) offered recommendations for naan and wine pairing for the Lobster Masala I had. All of the dishes I had took Indian spices and combined them with western flavors for a unique experience. The Lobster Masala was like a roller coaster for your taste buds. The heat was pretty mild so if you really like your Indian food scorching then this may not be for you but if you really like to try new flavor experiences this should be right up your alley.

Easily made a reservation during Restaurant Week on OpenTable app for two to sit outdoors. Management and staff were very attentive. The quinoa salad and separate fennel chicken appetizer were my favorite courses. The chickpeas entree was flavorful, but I had to take the rest home. The strawberry dessert was bland. Would have preferred a strawberry mousse.

I came here for restaurant week and had a delicious meal! The first course is cold quinoa. Then I got the Green Pea and Edamame Tikki with Lima Beans. I liked that they incorporated a source of protein for vegetarians and made a modern take on Indian cuisine. Then my main was the Paneer Lajawab which I've never had before, it was in a bed of spicy tomato sauce. It was very delicious and served with complimentary seasoned jeera rice. For dessert I had the Pistachio Kulfi, first time trying that and it was also delicious. I didn't mind that the serving sizes were small since I had a multi

Great ambience, Indian food with a modern twist, would highly recommend trying the different cocktails. Their service is relatively slow when compared to other restaurants but it's worth the wait because of the awesome food they serve. Their menu changes seasonally so you may not find a few items after 4-6 months. The place is a bit expensive but it's worth the food. Overall, if you are in for a high end modern Indian food experience, then look no further, this is the place to be!!!

(4.5 stars) Had a really great dinner experience here. The restaurant is beautiful to dine in and the food is super tasty, but the prices are somewhat absurd and the service can be overly aggressive. You aren't allowed to make alterations to dishes--which makes me suspect that's it produced in large batches akin to a buffet--but the quality does hold up. Just paying mid 20s for butter chicken and 10-15 for tapas-size appetizers is a bit jarring.

That said, the naan is some of the fluffiest and best I've har, the butter chicken is creamy and rich but I wish had some more spice to

I started with a cocktail- the temple of salt. It was delicious. My loved his more.
Small gestures in service did not go unnoticed. They checked in on us many times.
The four of us decided to split everything. We started with the Tandoori cauflower; it was delicious. Then we had the chicken tikka from the shared moments menu. We ate it all. We split the following Side Dishes: Dale makhani, Pinda chickpeas, Palak paneer, Roasted eggplant. Kachumbet rarita. Garlic naan. For our entree, or Reimagined Experience, we had the lobster masala and Lamb roganjosh.
Wow everything was amazing

Karma is in Chinatown, opposite side of the street from PNC Bank (bank on corner, Karma, down a few shops). The numbers don't follow logical order. 900 is nearby, even though the address is 611. Just look for the large signs on the building. You can sometimes find street parking. The restaurant is beautiful. I picked up a to go order. There are yummy vegetarian items. The Tandoori Cauliflower is great. The "tomato jus" sauce enhances the dish (it is great plain too). The garlic naan is giant and delicious. The zuccini kofta with chick pea dumplings is wonderful. Outstanding food and attentive service make this one of our favorite date night spots. We've never had a bad dish here but highly recommend the saffron paneer, such a rich and stunning dish. In addition, love the cocktails here as they are always well balanced and creative.

Don't miss their outdoor dining setup during covid as well. It's walled on two sides in the side alley for wind protection, with heaters for each table. We felt very warm but also happy it was still open air so we felt safe.

Great spot!

I came to Karma with a couple friends to celebrate a friend's birthday. Karma is definitely more upscale than the usual Indian restaurant in the area as shown by gorgeous and well thought out decor.

The service was good. There was a small "Happy Birthday" sign already at the table when we were seated which was a nice touch and we were given some ice cream with a candle for dessert, on the house.

My issue with Karma was I was expecting a lot more in the quality of food given the astronomical prices you will be paying here. The butter chicken was a bit too heavy on the tomato paste

The dining experience was so good. We were given ample time to talk amongst ourselves and service never felt slow.

I typically like to share a cocktail with my fiance, but this time, after ordering the first Penicilin, I ordered a second one. It is so good and fresh! I highly recommend it.

We ordered three orders of the mushroom and truffle naan and the garlic naan, seekh kebab, butter chicken, and kashmiri chicken gustaba. I highly recommend the truffle and garlic naan. They have redefined naan for
