A damaged or fractured tooth beyond restoration requires removal by non-surgical or surgical method. Once tooth or teeth are removed the bone supporting the tooth is lost up to 40 per cent over next two years. Bone loss continues after this albeit at a slower rate over years. Hence it is very important to have a bone graft to prevent this bone loss.

My encounter with him was extremely unpleasant. Firstly, he was very accusatory the entire time. I usually take extremely good care of my teeth (floss ~10 and brush ~3 a day), but since I got my braces and COVID-19 happened, I haven't been able to get a professional cleaning. He told me that I had bad oral hygiene and told me to floss/brush in a very demeaning way as if he didn't believe me when I told him that I do so already. One of my fillings broke and he tried telling me that I didn't have a filling in that tooth, so here's another instance where he tried to invalidate what I was saying.

I was a student at SUNY Albany, when I needed a dental exam, but couldn’t get home to see my regular dentist. I called their office and they fit me in quickly. Everyone was kind and professional. The doctor spoke in a way that gave me the impression he truly cared about his patients. I appreciated it.
