Is the BEGINNING of the process of Therapeutic Recovery. Mindfulness brings forth Awareness. Awareness of how I actually feel in the moment, the ability to name the emotion, acknowledging its presence, and be willing to work with its drama. Is the GOAL or the anticipated OUTCOME of Therapeutic Recovery.

It is the product of developing an internal and external support network. Internal support from cultivating self-compassion, kindness, patience and gratitude. External support from cultivating a strong spiritual, professional, recovery and personal network. It leads to living life "comfortable in one's own skin."
Services
Serenity is possible to obtain and preserve. Recovery is possible for individuals with chemical dependency, addiction, anxiety and depression issues, as well as many other life challenges. I am a strong advocate with a compassionate, professional, empathetic, mindful and spiritual approach. I offer a safe, respectful and encouraging environment to collaboratively begin building a new life-path based on a new way of thinking.
I realize that no two people are the same and as such tailor my therapy to meet the specific needs of my clients. Whether you are struggling with addiction, alocoholism or any other issue, I will help you recognize underlying problems, fully realize your strengths and adjust certain behaviors and thoughts to see things a different, healthier way.
More often than not, drug and alcohol addictions start with an experimental use of either or both in social situations. And for some people, the drug or alcohol use becomes more frequent. As time passes, a person may feel the need to use more of either to get their desired high, and soon a person may need either to simply feel "good."
Serenity Development Groups are on-going recovery support groups focusing on peer support, education, strengthening of coping skills, and mindfulness/ awareness development. They are an excellent addition to one's recovery management. These groups are offered by Serenity Preserved Counseling multiple times each month.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or CBT is a short-term, problem-focused form of behavioral treatment that helps people see the difference between beliefs, thoughts and feelings, and free them from unhelpful patterns of behavior. CBT is grounded in the belief that it is a person's perception of events - rather than the events themselves - that determines how he or she will feel and act in response.
