Back around 2008, this place was one of my favorites!
Great selection of beer, each Wing Flavor was significantly diverse, the boneless was big n meaty with very little breading, just enough,
They eventually changed their name to a boring Wings and Rings and not much changed, was just confusing.
I've moved away for awhile and haven't been back until 1/27/22, I talked this place up with a buddy and boy was I disappointed!
The various flavors didn't taste that much different.
I ordered Cajun, Lemon Pepper, Parmesan Garlic. They all tasted very similar with a hint of my selection and

Decided to try this place for the first time tonight. Was craving wings so ordered 15 traditional Buffalo wings to go. Got our order quickly, but was pretty disappointed to get home and discover that instead of Buffalo wings, we got fried wings with no sauce on them. Guess I will stick to places I know for wings.

Times Have Bought Change
In the past, we liked the food and service at The Hungry Monk. On Monday 9/27/2021 we stopped here for lunch. My wife's ordered two eggs over easy with potatoes and toast. I ordered what I enjoyed MANY times, the Bacon Swiss cheese burger well done with no pink on the inside, with fries. At the time of ordering, I knew the fries were now extra at $2. When my item arrived, WHERE IS THE BUN? When I cut into the burger, it was rare. So it was redone but came out cooked more but still very pink inside. I gave up at this point. They no longer serve the burger on a bun!

We have been back a few more times since my first review. We're about ready to claim this as our fav neighborhood bar to call home (even though we have to drive there versus walk 🤣😎).
Everyone who works there is friendly! And the food is really good! Everything we've tried so far has been super yum! I've included a pic of my fav: the brussel sprouts! Oooohhhhh-weeeee so many flavors tickle my taste buds!

First time in the Hungry Monk in Chandler, AZ. Wasn't sure what to expect, but it's a cool jitter joint that offers food and a decent variety of beers on tap. My GF & I have no problem with the beers we had. Service was also pretty good.
I'll just talk abt the wings we got. Not impressed. She got Honey Hot, Nuclear heat. I got Cajun (dry rub). The honey hot sauce was good, not too crazy hot, even though "nuclear. My Cajun dry rub had issues: not enough on the wings and the wings didn't hold the spice. Disappointing.

Friendly waiter as usual. Place was surprisingly packed for a Tuesday night. Good place to eat and socialize.
Only complaint was it appeared there's only one waiter. Although initially we did not have to wait very long for service.... after a while when it got super busy I had the flag the waiter down in order to get another drink and dessert. In which he forgot... or someone forgot to bring me my drink.

Good food, extremely friendly waitress. I ordered fish and chips. Three large pieces of fish that were really good. At first glance they appeared over cooked, but the were flaky and moist in every bite. The large selection of local breweries took a bit to read through, but the beverage was great. This was my first experience there, but I will be back!

10 wings, 1 soda, 1 ice tea, 1 bowl of chili and a beer. $34 tab. There was a $12 Burger but taken off tab because after 15 mins of waiting for it to be corrected from rare to medium. My group was finished and it was easier just to leave.
Three chicken strips are $8 and thats all you get. No side. Pretty much one chicken breast for $8.

We ordered in. Looked for a place that had fish and chips, and I found this place. I'm I glad we did! It's the best fish fry since we moved out here in 2011.
Crispy, tasty, and a great value. We got literally enough fish for two dinners, super fries, Cole slaw (only thing we thought needed work), Tatar sauce, and they actually put lemon in with the delivery!
We will be visiting them in person soon.

I have drove by this place for years wanting to try it out. This place has a lot of beers on tap but I wouldn't suggest this place to bring your kid. The food tasted ok but me and my partner were both holding our stomachs for a day after eating the French fries and ranch. Honestly how does something so simple cause so much stomach pain ?

We came in for happy hour this place was recommended by one of our friends. I had burger and hubby had grilled wings! Well nice surprise! Food was really good! Tuesday specials tacos and 2.50 Mexican beers! Always nice to get Dis XX cold and cheap! Marcy our server/bartender was awesome! Friendly and funny! Lots of fun!

I have gone to this place for many years. I have always loved how the staff is amazing. Lately during covid I have been less frequently visiting as I am staying closer to home. Recently, however I came back and Heather made me feel at home and remember why I loved this place. Sure they have good craft beer and food.. but she made me remember why I originally loved the place. Thank you for bringing me back Heather.

I visited for the first time last night and had the fish and chips. The fish was perfectly cooked and delicious, as were the fries. The cole slaw was a little bland and the portion, very small, but I didn't mind, because of the quality of the fish and fries. Our server was friendly and brought us drinks in a timely fashion, but when several members of our group asked for additional pieces of fish, and extra cocktail sauce for shrimp, it took way too long, with multiple requests. Okay, so Hungry Monk is soooo close to our place so we have gone in a few times and gone to pick up to-go. The bartenders are attentive, the servers aren't the greatest. They aren't horrible either, just kinda bland. The food we have had is so good. We've gotten the pork BBQ sliders and I always add a side, sweet potatoe fries, or fried pickles. My husband gets the porky melt! He said it's one of the best sandwiches he's ever had haha. I LOVE the ranch there, yes I'm a ranch freak. Probably the worst experience I've had at a restaurant in a long time on Sunday. Some friends and I went to Hungry Monk for a beer dinner That was supposed to be from 6-9. It took until almost 10p. A lot of the food was like warm to cold and the "beer pairing" was sometimes not even served at the same time. We waited 35 minutes to pay putting us past 10p which was ridiculous. We sat at the table for 15 min, 20 min at the register, and asked for our check where the server ignored us and went to the bar. We were forced to leave as there is work the next day and some had children. Now

Extremely yummy food. Team members were attentive. We ate here at 11:00pm on a Saturday. Good and friendly atmosphere. We got the Brewtus Board for an app. Perfect hand food and munchies for two people along with some beers. We got the Bacon Swiss Burger, cooked to perfection at a medium. The Monk Quesadilla was delicious as well. Definitely will be returning and bringing friends.
