We are a small, creative, design and construction company serving the Salem and Mid Valley area. Patios, structures, and outdoor living spaces are the foundation of many of our designs. Stained concrete, composite decks and wooden structures, masonry and stone provide the footprint for a diverse palette of plantings and other landscape treatments surrounding them.
Where possible, we strive to take a property back toward nature, rebuilding some of what was damaged during the building process. Period and cottage gardens, family gardens, habitats and contemporary, the challenge is to give the customer something fresh and new, a place for entertaining or relaxing, for garden art or whimsy, a place that blends into its surroundings or speaks to those who see it.

There are few pleasures in life more satisfying to me than a hike along a stream in the forest. So much to see and learn. When I graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 1972, I had years of classroom experience in Design, plant materials, and environmental studies, but it was a pittance compared to a Northwest woodland.
An all day class on Waterfall construction ~ This class deals with the principals of design and construction of a natural looking waterfall including liners, pump selection, rock selection, and proper techniques for digout and installation. It's an increasingly important aspect in today's world. We make every attempt to abide by a code of sustainability in our designs, our work practices, and our philosophy. Install "Rain Gardens" on downspouts and parking (paved) areas to help manage storm water. Design of habitat gardens, treehouses, and other fun stuff to enhance the family's experience of nature and wildlife in their own back yard!.
Water gardens, more often than not, become the centerpiece of the garden. They provide a place of tranquility and movement, masking the sounds of the city and giving opportunities for new plantings, wildlife, even recreation. They can be as natural as a northwest stream or dramamtic falls, or complex and architectural with unusual composition and flair.
Garden Architecture forms the bones of the landscape and allows us to enjoy and "live" in our gardens. These Outdoor Structures allow us to experience the landscape and gardens as we eat, read, relax, or stroll. Climate control is provided from pergolas and overheads, decorative screens and fences can give us privacy and security without sacrificing aesthetics.
