Took my car to B&B Auto for the first time, last month, and was very impressed with the service I received. Years ago when I lived in McHenry b&b did all my auto repairs. I recently moved back to McHenry, and unfortunately my car broke down in the late evening. I had it towed to b&b because I had work done there years before. I just paid for what needed done, after I got the car back I price compared with three other places for what they did at b&b. Out of the three estimates, the highest one was $220 less than what I paid at b&b. I'm happy with the quality of work, but it was very expensive.

My car was overheating one day. I filled up the coolant and thought I was fine. I checked the coolant level the next day and it was low again. The next day the service engine light came on, so I knew I had to get it checked out. I took it to the dealership where I bought it from and left it there for them to diagnose. A couple days later I get a long list of repairs that need to be done, totaling nearly $3900. I check with another repair shop I've used and they quote me $3000. I check around online and on Yelp and see that B & B has had great reviews, so I take it there. Long story short

Our college daughter was home for fall break and had an issue with her front tire the day before she needed to head back to school which is out of state. This morning my car was taking a couple tries to start. Stopped by B&B and a lovely man took a look at it, tightened the battery cable that was loose and even took off some paint transfer! All in all it was maybe 10 minutes of his time and probably wasn't a big deal to him but to me that was pretty awesome and a life saver on this busy weekend. Tried them out yesterday and brought in my Mercedes C300. I asked if the cost on the Valvoline board of $59.99 was correct for a full Valvoline full synthetic oils change and was told "Yes". Then I asked when the car would be done and to please call me when ready. That was at 9:30 AM. At 3:PM I called to find out they had just got the old filter. At 4PM I picked up the car to find the cost escalated to over $99.00. When I asked who the difference she explained my car takes two extra quarts of oils and the filter needed to be ordered. "Why did you tell me $59.99 was the correct

I've been using B&B for almost 3 years and when you're driving a first generation Dodge Durango, you tend to be a repeat customer. I've had several things done from suspension replacements, water pump, seized brakes, new muffler, new radiator, and engine heater installation. To sum up the experience, they use quality parts, and do quality work. I've never had to take the vehicle back for a part that was previously replaced. In the past they have occasionally forgotten to call me back, but I haven't had an issue with that in a long time so I would consider that resolved

I brought in a used car I was thinking of buying so I could get a pre-sale inspection. They did a very thorough inspection and wrote up a list of exactly what was OK and what needed some work.
