We moved back to Williamsburg from Savannah, GA after 9 years. We wanted to find a new venue to celebrate our anniversary....nothing against the older dining options just wanted to try something new. My wife found Cochon on 2nd....the menu looked great and the reviews were fabulous! Add to the intrigue was the fact that Neil Giriggs was the brain behind the venture. I worked with Neil about 40 years ago at the Williamsburg Hospitality House where, as a very young man for the position, Neil was making a name for himself. Ok...so enough of the boring stuff. From the moment we arrived we were met

Best restaurant in Williamsburg in my opinion. Chef owned. This is a smaller restaurant. Reservations are a must. But everything from the food to the bar service to the wait staff is excellent. The chef keeps the menu small -and it changes - based on quality and availability. They do steaks better than the premier steakhouse in town (Opus9) and every one of their seafood dishes is impeccable. While the interior is not as fancy as the white linen service at Le Yaca it's still charming whether you sit in the rustic style open kitchen dining room or in the fireplace room that is sometimes

Have eaten at Cochon multiple times since it opened several years ago and have enjoyed the experience. Just celebrated the holidays there with delicious dinners on both Christmas and New Year's eves. Food is consistently high quality.
Cochon is one of a few Williamsburg restaurants that provide a variety of flavorful fine-dining entres, such as, wood grilled Scottish salmon, pan seared duck breast with fig sauce, or Angus tenderloin with port wine reduction. The grilled pork chop, when available, is particularly well seasoned and tender. There is an decent selection of appealing appetizers, salads

Cochon is a 5 star restaurant in all dimensions. The open, high ceiling dining room is welcoming, attractive, and sound-absorbent. Service is extraordinary. The food is perfect, with just enough variety in the limited menu to satisfy everyone. Even though the place is sort of French, the wine list offers excellent variety and very good value, not just a bunch of overpriced French bottles. Our dinner consisted of the chicken gumbo, an excellent lobster bang-bang appetizer, and the salmon entree. We also had the banana bread pudding for desert. All were outstanding. Nothing to criticize here!

Let me start by saying I was way underdressed for this place walking in with a shirt and converse shoes😂
The food was amazing.
We had the fried scallops and lobster bisque.
Entré was the duck and the lamb chops. Although the char on the lamb was a bit too much for me. It was still delicious.
For desert the lemon cake and chocolate mousse did not disappoint.
If you drink I recommend the French Martini. Yummmy.

I honestly am just in awe at how amazing our food was tonight that I had to write a review right away.
We started off with their soup of the day (an absolutely delicious clam chowder) and warm goat cheese salad. The goat cheese was fried to perfection and paired very well with the greens. We also loved their take on clam chowder, it was filled with more veggies than potatoes which was a refreshing spin on what we've had before. Our entrees, though, stole the entire show. I had the salmon and my boyfriend got the duck. Both dishes literally melted in my mouth, I seriously was shocked at how

We ate here for a wedding dinner. This place is high class and you will need to dress for the place. This place is awesome! High class, tasty food, drinks were liquor up wonderfully. My husband got a shot, Johnnie Walker, which is high class liquor, it about knocked him off his feet and the portion was a lot more than a shot. My husband is a pretty good drinker and can hold his own but he said this shot was like "BAM". The food was tasty but not a lot for portions. I got the salmon and hubs got the filet. It was cooked perfect over hickory smoke grill. We had our own room that was situated

Our great experience began right when we entered the restaurant. The hostess kindly retrieved our reservation and escorted us to our table. Our server, Eric R., promptly came by, filled water and informed us of the specials. Our food (lobster bisque, warm goat cheese salad, specials--pork chop with pear salsa and crab cakes add dessert-warm apple crisp with cinnamon ice cream) were hot and delicious. Also, the icing on the cake was the personalized menu and marking our anniversary. Will definitely return.

I have never in my life had the experience I had at Cochon. My wife and I arrived, ordered drinks and ordered appetizers. Drinks arrived after 15 minutes . . . ok. No apps. Waitress came by I ordered entrées. She said ok, two apps, two entrees. I explained to her that I didn't want my entrees to land before I had finished my apps. With attitude, she said she would do her best. I said no, I would like to know that my entrees will not land until apps were finished. She pushed again. I said "I will really be pissed if my entrees arrive before my apps, so please just . . . " at which

Our favorite restaurant in Williamsburg used to be The Rockefeller Rom at the Williamsburg Inn. They weren't open for dinner yet because of the pandemic, so we decided to give Cochon a try. Oh, my! We now have a new favorite restaurant in Williamsburg. In fact, it was so good we went back a second time the week we were there. Service is marvelous, and the food is so good it makes your eyes roll back in your head. I actually ordered the same entree (scallops) both times. These five large scallops were perfectly cooked and served with a powerful sauce, plus asparagus and carrot. My starters

We just had the most amazing anniversary dinner! When we arrived, they had a menu printed for us that said, “Happy 23rd Anniversary!” This was such a wonderful personal touch! Our server, Brittany, was exceptional. Always there for anything we needed, but not hovering.
I started off with a Pear Martini, and my husband had an Old Fashioned. I think I found a new favorite drink! ❤️
For appetizers we had the Firecracker Shrimp and the Crab Cakes. I could have made a meal just out of the firecracker shrimp-jumbo shrimp with mushrooms, red peppers, carrots, and snap peas. The crab cakes tasted

We dined here for Valentine’s day and although the place was busy our service was above board, the food was incredible and delicious. We randomly chose this restaurant because we would be visiting the area and we were not disappointed. The chef asked us how the food was, our server Tailor constantly checked on us, and not once were we left wanting anything. The service, the food, the wine.... made the entire evening very special. Of course the company of my handsome husband sealed the deal ☺️. I can’t stress this enough, the food was amazing! Definitely returning when we are in town again

This is supposed to be a high-end haute-cuisine fine-dining place, and it does have some of those elements, but somehow it fails to achieve all. For a place like this, you expect expensive small plates, which make up for the small portions by the exquisite taste and design, right? Well, here you get larger portions but less haute cuisine! So, it seems to be somewhere between a fine dining and a regular restaurant, but man, they go with the fine-dining part when it comes to the check! All being said, we had a good time on Valentine's night, and the ambience was adorable. Our server was really

This is a great restaurant. Very friendly and attentive staff who are always willing to make menu adjustments for allergies or preference. The open kitchen is nice and it is great to see. There are not many places like this in the Hampton roads area and definitely a one of a kind in Williamsburg. Not stuffy at all but a really nice high end restaurant with great food.

As local residents for over 35 years, this restaurant is most definitely one of the best in the Williamsburg area. This is where I would bring many of our friends to break bread and enjoy the lunch or evening. My favorite is the Wood grilled Scottish Salmon Caesar Salad. Hands down the best I've ever had. Well worth stopping by and trying them out for yourself.

Quarantine. It sucks, I get it. But these guys should be ashamed of how they sent their food out the door. There is absolutely no mention of the fact that they are sending the food out COLD, either when you order or on their website. I called twice, in fact, asking about various items, and was never told that the food would be sent out cold. When I called back to ask what was going on, I got a "oh, yeah, that's how we do it. We'll reimburse you if you want to bring the food back."
It was gross. The French onion soup looked like gravy, with no onions, no crouton, no cheese

If you're looking for a slight touch of French cuisine with a very clean dining area, attentive staff, and good tasting food with just the right amount on the plate, this is the place. I would not consider the place fine dining but will rival Fleming's.
Stopped here for a quick lunch with the car club and the wagyu burger is awesome. While the green egg smoked pork can easily awake a dormant palate.
The selection of wine is on par with the menu. Unfortunately, no designated driver at the time of the visit.
