I don't know where to begin this review of Mattox Photography -- from the first conversation, I felt everything would be handled in the best possible way, and it was. Mattox was recommended by an Arlington funeral home (I live on the west coast) and when I called to leave a message for Mattox, even though it was after hours, Michelle picked up, asked how she could help and took the time to answer all my questions. From the initial call to our final communication, Michelle was always there when we needed her.

I have now received two unsolicited emails from Mattox Photography. I would have reacted to the first, but decided that were a company stupid enough to market this way then someone else would eventually let them know. This is only from my viewpoint - other might feel differently.
In my opinion pitching a family preparing for the funeral of a service member in this manner is inappropriate and likely to offend the recipient.
In addition, Mattox Photography should check their list of recently deceased service members. This does not describe anyone in my family. However, I must say that were

Mattox Photography did a fine job photographing my father's funeral services at Arlington. The day was hot and she still worked tirelessly to get images we were unable to see, since we were following the procession. She captured the grandeur of a very important moment. It all goes by so quickly and as the family, it's hard to focus on everything going on around you. They clearly know the "in's and out's" of the ceremony and worked hard to preserve those moments for us.

I hired Mattox Photography for my father's funeral in Arlington National Cemetery.
The photographer they sent seemed stressed just because the funeral started
a few minutes late. He also didn't treat the funeral as a somber occasion but acted more
like you would expect from a wedding photographer, "Hey everybody, let's have a group
shot!, everyone get together and smile...."
Then during the procession into the cemetery, all of his photos were poorly framed
and he failed to even capture an image of the horses pulling the casket. Yes, he

Mattox did an outstanding job at my fathers' funeral at Arlington in early April. I appreciated the mailing from them because, until then, I hadn't even considered documenting the ceremony. I contacted them a little more than a week before the funeral, and despite the short notice, they were able to accommodate my/our request.
The photographer, Jessica(?), was very professional and I appreciated that she did her thing out of the way and did not require much interaction with family or guests. All of the photos they presented for review were very well done - well framed, focused and
