Compared to the intake processes with other mental health offices I've experienced, Eugene Therapy's style seems odd. Reception staff doesn't seem very experienced. I recently moved to Eugene, and will be looking for support elsewhere.

I inquired about becoming a patient with one of their Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners. I was informed that they could not prescribe the medications that I’m on, specifically the anti-psychotics. I inquired about why, and they stated that people who need anti-psychotics are “too high of need”. I’ve never been told this before in the 10 years that I’ve been receiving psychiatric care. It is quite common for people with mental health conditions to take anti-psychotics even if they’ve never had psychosis. It should be clearly stated on their website that they do not accept clients with

I’ve been seeing Brandon Marshall for a few weeks now, & he is BY FAR the best therapist/counselor i have ever seen.
i know i can speak freely & openly about whatever it is, even the dark stuff that’s on my mind, judgment free.
prior to meeting brandon, i didn’t really believe in therapy, or that it could be beneficial to me.
i would recommend Brandon to almost anyone, especially if you’ve had negative experiences with counseling before.

My therapist Ian wasn't half bad, but the company ghosted me after some scheduling troubles.

I was dealing with a very delicate and high conflict situation with my children and ex husband. Eugene Therapy practice standards are UNETHICAL. I am looking into having them investigated. I reviewed my situation with the manager and the specific counselor, Abbey before preceding and they confidently took us on as clients and made a very bad situation worse! Eugene therapy reminds me of a factory assembly line, They are concerned for themselves and their business over the best interest of the client. I'm sure they are adequate for basic concerns but if you have real problems and are looking for

The receptionists are warm and inviting and I always get in for my appointments right away. I feel totally comfortable with my counselor and I usually can't get comfortable with people. I've never felt judged or ridiculed in the office and they're good about accommodating my schedule. My counselor always remembers what is going on with my life, and I feel like she genuinely cares about my well-being.

Nancy Kimmel is an outstanding counselor who has helped me tremendously over the past couple of months. She has given me numerous strategies to help me challenge and cope with a sometimes debilitating issue I have experienced throughout my lifetime. She also gives me "homework" to further educate myself as to why I am experiencing the things I am and to help my family also understand and support me through my growth and evolution. I am so grateful to Nancy for her kind and gentle approach, guiding me through mental awareness and into healing. She is indeed a rare find.

I have been receiving counseling here for years. For gender/Trans*, lgbt, and mental health reasons. My therapist Jen Porter is the best I have had in my life and long journey of therapy. She is kind, but also does a great job in engaging me in conversations that help me lead myself into a clearer understand of a situation or how I am feeling. She is supportive, respectful, and knowledgeable on Trans* and LGBT issues.

The front desk had always been polite and kind, the waiting rooms are nice and clean. Yes the $80 fee is steep for late cancellations. They will wave it the first time per year

Eugene Therapy not only is home to able therapists, but has also mastered the art of being an easy-to-use business in a way that few therapists are. Marc has made it a point to make his process and environment extremely user-friendly so that clients can focus on the matter at hand and not be bogged down by logistics, insurance, etc. What a great find!

Jennifer the intake person is a nightmare. Even with the best insurance, getting to be seen is horrific!! Many Counselor's want clients and apparently Eugene Therapy is so busy they can be absolutely rude! They were recommended by another counselor in town that is amazingly positive to work with however for adolescent needs they may be okay with OHP but traditional insurance coverage acceptance sucks!

I'm writing this specifically to counter the one negative review by someone who wrote only bad reviews, has 0 friends on Yelp, and has only written 6 reviews, the most recent of which was almost 4 years ago.

So, if you are reading this, this is the review you should trust. I never had a bad experience here, in fact I enjoyed every visit--which was at least once a week for 3 years. The front desk staff was always super friendly both on the phone and in person; they always smiled and knew my name when I walked in. My therapist was incredibly nice as well and always very helpful and caring
