I believe that, as human beings, we all have an inherent and natural capacity to reach our full potential and flourish. However, many people find it difficult to access their highest self. As a therapist, it's my job to work with you and support you to identify the barriers that prevent you from living a full and satisfying life.

It may be that you have experienced traumatic events. You may have learned beliefs and behaviors in childhood that no longer work for you. You may have been impacted by your own addictions, or the addictions of others that are close to you. It may be that your own thoughts are getting in your way. Whatever it is that is causing you emotional pain, you don't have to live with it alone!
Services
In addition to my professional history, I would like to share a few things that you might want to know about me as a person. So far I have lived a rich and varied life, one in which I have used all of my life experiences, including unfortunate events, to learn and to grow in self-awareness and to examine assumptions and beliefs that were no longer helpful to me.
The most important relationship you will ever have is with yourself. Unfortunately, for many people, loving and appreciating themselves is very difficult. If you are considering therapy, chances are you are unhappy with some aspect of who you are.

Many people who experience mental or emotional problems think that there must be something wrong with them, most of the time, however, it is what has happened, or is happening to you that has overwhelmed your ability to cope.If you have emotions that seem out of control, and thoughts that make it difficult for you to get through the day, there are many things you can do to get better.
Children are people, and, like anyone else, they are highly impacted by stressful circumstances, such as parent conflict, divorce, abuse, financial hardship, the death of a loved one, or any other big changes in their lives. Even positive experiences, such as starting school, or meeting new people, can be overwhelming for some kids.
Research shows that family therapy can be very effective in improving overall individual mental health, which makes sense, given that most people are highly affected by the people they are closest to.

Unfortunately, conflicting needs among family members is sometimes very difficult to resolve, and patterns of destructive interactions can go on for years, or even generations, as we repeat behaviors passed on from parents or grandparents that are not very helpful. Each family has its own "culture" with spoken and unspoken expectations that don't necessarily work for all individual family members equally.
My fee is normally $120.00 per 50-60 minute sessions. Intake sessions are $160.00. Fees, including any co-payment are due at the conclusion of each session. I believe strongly that everyone deserves the help they need and therefore I offer a sliding scale based on your income and ability to pay. Please feel free to ask me about this option.
