You were born in Cincinnati, graduated from dental school at The Ohio State University, then completed your pediatric dental residency right here in New Orleans at LSU. That's quite a change for a midwestern girl. Tell me a little about how you ended up in The Big Easy. My husband and I met in Ohio.
Our office, as well as the The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the American Dental Association (ADA), and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) all recommend establishing a "Dental Home" for your child by one year of age. Children who have a dental home are more likely to receive appropriate preventive and routine oral health care.
Our office attempts to schedule appointments at your convenience. Preschool children should be seen in the morning because they are more awake, and we can work more slowly with them for their comfort. School children with a lot of homework should be seen in the morning for the same reason. Dental appointments are an excused absence, and missing school can be minimal when regular dental care is scheduled.
For more information concerning pediatric dentistry, please visit the website for the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. The pediatric dentist has an extra two to three years of specialized training after dental school, and is dedicated to the oral health of children from infancy through the teenage years.
Some children are given nitrous oxide/oxygen - or what you may know as laughing gas - to relax them for their dental treatment. Nitrous oxide/oxygen is a blend of two gases, oxygen and nitrous oxide. Nitrous oxide/oxygen is given through a small breathing mask which is placed over the child's nose, allowing them to relax without putting them to sleep.

The doctor my kids saw was good however this office do not work with you. If you are a minute late they cannot honor the visit. Today would’ve been one of my kids first visit but due to getting sick at the last minute I had to cancel the appointment. I was told I was not able to reschedule due to her being a new pt but asked if I wanted to reschedule my other child. No thank you, I’ll just find another doctor to accommodate everyone. Going forward I will not recommend this office. If anyone decides to go make sure you are not late! Not even a second.

The office visit was regular nothing bad or good. They did what they do. I did not have dental insurance for my child so I paid of pocket. I was quoted 260.00. Was charged $400.00. The bill was packed with a lot of small unspecified charges. And the exam was billed at $290.00. I'm upset but work was done and Ill pay. I requested the x-rays through email because I probably won't be back. In 6 months Ill go to another provider. My daughter is 3 years old. Not really impressed with the service for the price.

My child has been a patient of Dr. Susan for about 6 years now. Over this course of time my family has build relationship with Dr. Susan and her amazing staff. The staff is educated, professional, and super friendly. Her office is beautiful and clean. But what we love most, is her genuine care, and love for her profession and her patients. I highly recommend Uptown Pediatric Dentistry to all my friends and family!

I am so happy my child was able to seen same day for a dental emergency. We are new patients so Front Desk Staff ( Chantille) super super helpful and the the other 2 ladies as well. Dental Hygienist polite, professional, and sweet. Because of Covid OFFICE is taking extra care to keep children and parents safe. With this being said, I would like to ADD that Dr. Fallahi, she’s incredibly knowledgeable and she had the perfect words to comfort my son & me. My son is very happy and I am too.! We are coming back next week for cleaning! Yay!!

After calling to advise staff that I would be about 5 minutes late arriving to my appointment, I was told that they would not be able to honor the appointment. Ok, that was understandable. Then, I attempted to reschedule and was told that since the kids were new patients and late for the first appointment, I would NOT be allowed to reschedule any appointments with the office.

This is an updated review on a recent visit. I posted a bad review on yelp on our last visit and needed to update. After much consideration, we decided to go back to Dr. Susan, because Uptown Pediatric Dentistry had been my children’s dentist for 14 years and also I’d met Dr. Susan at 2 events and felt like personally she was great.
I am obsessed… with dental care and teeth and my daughter needed an emergency visit. Two of her top teeth have small milk spots on them because I nursed her for a little longer than what people normally nurse for. Also upon brushing her teeth, I discovered

This was my baby's first dentist appointment. The staff was great and friendly. The office is very clean. I arrived early to fill out the paperwork and there was an area for my son (10 months) to play and entertain himself. It is separated from the older children. I wasn't sure what to expect, since my son doesnt like anyone in his mouth. To my surprise, he did great! He did not cry or put up a fuss. They were extremely gently with him. He got his Elmo Awesome sticker for being so Awesome! We will be back in six months. Thanks for the great service!
