Lorna Lally DMD is a comprehensive general dentistry office which proudly treats patients of all ages. Dr. Lally took over the practice over 10 years ago and we have been growing and serving the community ever since. We understand that a dental office wouldn't rank very high on a list of favorite places to visit so we have worked hard to ensure that our office is modern and welcoming and our team inviting and warm.
Our team is our secret weapon! We are blessed with three amazing hygienists, three compassionate assistants, two enthusiastic office administrators, and of course our two wonderful dentists. This is a very multicultural office with members of eight countries represented and we can serve you in 8 languages (English, Spanish, Portuguese, Tibetan, Albanian, Gaelic, Hindi, Nepalese, and limited Italian).
All other plans are accepted (except Mass Health) as long as you can be seen out of network. When you come for your first visit, we will ensure we have the time to understand your dental needs and concerns and if necessary, create a treatment plan that works within your comfort zone and budgetary means.

Terribly bad experience. I was convinced first by Doctor Maria that I need to do four deep cleaning. But in my third visit,doctor was changed without any explanation and the third and fourth cleaning was done in one go with much more pain and bleeding in comparable time to each of the last two visit. I cannot say enough good things about this place. First they do amazing work, I have never had an issue after being seen here.

For my first visit as a new patient, everything goes kind of okay until asking me to pay the bills. My insurance is really good and could cover a lot of service. But I just couldn't expect it charges me 40s bucks for my first visit, which is just annual oral evaluation and teeth clean(not deep clean). #1 dental practice anywhere. I had poor to mediocre dentist experiences in the past and then avoided it all together for 5 years. After my fiancé recommended this spot I was hooked. They hit you with plenty reminders for booked appts and are flexible in rescheduling quickly. I never wait more than 10 min. Everyone is friendly and outgoing. Great vibes and awesome background music. Dentists are transparent and patient in answering any questions and reviewing recommendations. Whether it's a routine cleaning or something more - I never thought I'd look forward to going to the dentist.

Dr. Lally, Dr. Dautaj, and the whole staff are extremely kind, knowledgeable, so very honest ! ("no that stain is not a cavity your teeth are fine" -- which I know from experience many other dentists would have unfortunately recommended), and all around a pleasure to interact with. On the occasional conversation they're even quite fun and engaging, and always so very professional.

I just love this place. I am a very anxious patient and hate anything to do with the dentist, and they are so awesome; they make what can be a very negative experience in to one that is relaxing, gentle, and very informative - I feel like they are on my team and supporting me on my path to better dental health. The staff are all extremely friendly and do a great job of walking you through each step and keeping you relaxed during dental procedures. They also have great music in the office! I wouldn't go anywhere else.

They always put me at ease and because of them I actually look forward to going to the dentist! Dr. Lally and Dr. Dautaj are both wonderful. The hygienists, assistants, and front desk staff all rock. I live in the Somerville Davis Square area and anyone familiar with the area knows there are multiple dentist offices to choose from. I originally started at another dentist across the street and wasn’t satisfied with the office or service I received. The hygienists and dentists were constantly pushing unnecessary costly deep cleanings that weren’t covered by insurance. My fiancé goes to Lorna Lally and highly recommended their office. Supremely positive experience all around. From the Dentists themselves to the Hygienists and Receptionists, everyone is extremely friendly, professional, and most of all, efficient. Dr. Lally, Dr. Dautaj, and their staff are awesome. They are super friendly, considerate, and gentle. I just had a filling done by Dr. Lally. She was gentle and always made sure I was comfortable, and not in any pain. Gian, her dental assistant, is great. He gave me a head massage while I got an anesthetic shot. Dr. Dautaj, Jensy, Claudia, and Jessica are also great. Super nice people.

Professional, informative and friendly. Based on my single consultation I would say this dentist office is great. I've had a good number of dentists in the past and I would say the expertise here is top notch. The specialist was knowledgeable and discussed all the key factors in good dental health including diet and frequency of eating. The dentist was kind, patient and transparent about their recommendations. Advice was great and it was clear folks here do not push procedures to fill insurance quotas. Receptionist was a pleasure as well.

8 years ago, I had bleach poured down my throat by a dentist during a root canal. As my throat burned and I spontaneously vomited and had a panic attack, he told me there were "definitely no harmful chemicals" in what gulped, but I should drink some milk anyway just in case.
Needless to say, I've taken a long hiatus from the dentist due to severe PTSD.

I wanted to write this review because it has been such a different dental experience than prior ones. I've had the most awful experiences that have been incredibly scarring with a previous dental office (for example, nitrous oxide not properly administered during wisdom teeth removal, nightmares with a non-responsive billing department that would submit erroneous codes.) So my expectations were low.

I am really impressed by the service here. Both Dr. Lally and Dr. Dautaj really take time and effort to make the patients comfortable. Megan at the front desk worked really hard to squeeze me in super last minute and called me and keep me updated while they tried to find an appointment for me. Gian assisted while I had fillings and he was really attentive and tried to keep me comfortable. Overall each person goes above and beyond here!

I have been coming here for several years now at the recommendation of a colleague and am very pleased with my experience. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. I have been cared for by both Drs. Lally and Dautaj and both are amazing ; truly passionate about caring for their patients. I'd been going to Dr Lally for a few years and was very pleased. When she moved to her trendy new hipster digs, I continued to see her. However, I had an appointment for a cleaning when she was not in, and that's when the tables turned. I did not realize that I had a terrible case of thrush due to being on antibiotics. Neither the dental hygienist who cleaned my teeth nor the backup dentist for Dr. Lally noticed it. I rarely ever give anyone 5 stars, but this office deserves 8 or 9 after dealing with me and my dentophobia..The ladies over at Lorna Lally, DMD, especially Dr. Lally are absolutely incredible.
Had a couple bumps in the road with insurance but that was at no fault of the office. I have such an intense fear of getting dental work done, due to bad prior experiences, but this office has changed that for me. I initially found her via Yelp and have stuck with her because in all my years of dental troubles (induced by a special blend of poor teenage habits, 28 sweet teeth, and awful oral genetics), I've never felt so comfortable at the dentist. The offices are pleasant, clean, and very well supplied. The reception staff are all VERY friendly and helpful. When it comes to check-ups, they are always done in about 30-40 minutes (with the procedure itself, plus about 10 minutes for processing) and they are very thorough. Great dentists - the cleaning staff changes not the same person each time. But problematic is the fact that the front desk has changed in a year dramatically and is bordering on unfriendly to accommodate schedules. They used to be quite flexible to put on cancellation lists.
Now if you want an appointment rescheduled, it may be six months before they even call you back for another one. My rating will be a 4.5 star if it is just based on the quality and care provided by the Dentist.
But unfortunately you cannot see the Dentist, unless the front desk people let you!!!!!

I'm confused about some of the negative reviews here, as I believe this is one of the best dentists I've ever been to.
I have a severe fear of dentists, and would have a borderline anxiety attack just thinking about going. This dentist has been so great, my anxiety is much more manageable. I know they are going to be kind, not judgy, and will give me great advice on things I can do to help my teeth (Xylitol sprays, etc...). If you have a fear of dentists, I would recommend Dr. Lally for her kindness and patience.
