Anyone considering this place, just don't do it.
Management is never in the office. The baseboard heaters in the units are in violation of city code (I emailed the city zoning department and read the warning label on the instructions). The windows are terrible and it was almost impossible to keep mold from growing. They told us they would prorate the carpet replacement when we moved out after 2 years and didn't. Instead of getting some of our deposit back, we got an almost $1,000 bill. The grass is so overly watered that when our small 20lb dog walked on it, it squished and her little

This place is by far the worst place I have ever lived. Avoid at all costs, the emergency maintenance line is a joke, we had two flooding emergencies after hours and never got ahold of maintenance till the next morning. They don't come to fix things when stated and will not give any notice prior to invasive construction, they tore down my entire patio without any notice and blamed an abrupt change in management. Then don't show up for walkthrough and try to charge for complete carpet replacement on a carpet that has outlived its lifespan and was left in fine condition as they are remodeling

After the manager Carla left this place went down hill . I lived here for 5 years with 1 month left in my lease and the treatment I received was mind blowing . Within 2 months of her leaving I could not take the disrespectful tones and attitudes from the new staff. I was told my apartment would not be renovated after seeing other apartments being renovated with brand new appliances. I personally felt unwanted on the property after Carla left being one of the only young black residents . The pictures on the site are misleading so make sure u go in because on the website they make it look like you

I walked in to the office and wanted to get help looking for an apartment and I could clearly see the leasing agent completely swamped and the manager was just sitting the on the computer and the leasing agent got no help whatsoever it took someone to asked the manager for help for her to come out the office. I left and come back later on in the week and was told to come back when we the leasing agent was there.

Carla and Romero really do care for every tenant, so much so that they feel like family to us. They are very fair, as well as accommodating.
Watching our son learn how to swim in the jacuzzi and pool will be a lasting loving memory that we always have here.

I lived at Brookside for 2 years, and in those 2 years, the quality of the staff and complex diminished immensely. Mailboxes and apartments were broken into, the security gate NEVER works (and when it does people drive around it), and contacting someone in the office is impossible. It does not feel like a safe community. Even though my rent went up substantially between leases the apartments are in terrible shape, the appliances are old, and the laundry room is full of broken machines. The property manager is aloof (she forgets everything) and you have to ask many, many times for simple requests

Both Carla and Ulianna were excellent to work with, and very nice people; don't believe those tossing around the race card, these two were great, along with the two maintenance guys onsite. Very helpful team.
The apartment was small, but clean; nothing fancy, everything worked properly when we moved in, and during the duration of our stay. Parking was ample, we were assigned a covered space. Very much of a pet-welcome atmosphere; a few residents did not pick up after their dogs, but overall not too many lawn bombs. Laundry-wise, it was

Shocked to see some of these extremely personal comments attacking the staff. I've lived at Brookside for a few years and love living here. Pleasant Hill is an expensive area so the rent prices are going to be high due to the location, but it's a peaceful and quiet complex that is well-kept. The units are clean and in good condition even though they're mostly original. When I moved in there was new carpeting and pretty blue accent walls, which I really appreciated.

I moved into my apartment in Oct, by December there was mold around my window due to single-pane windows.
The unit heating system is out-dated and inefficient; you'll pay more on gas from starting up the heater and keeping the heat in, than actually enjoying a cozy apt, when you're home.
The pool is not heated so you won't ever go in.
Washer and dryers are old.
2 stars because residents are quiet, friendly staff, and clean premises.

Worst place to visit and live. If I could give this place negative stars I would. Carla & her assistant Juliana always seem to have a sarcastic attitude to minorities which is quite ironic. If something's wrong in the apartment they're never wrong it's always the current tenants fault for whatever is broken even if it was broken before move in. They don't seem to know how to treat others expect themselves & certain residents whom they favor. It got to the point where I had to contact the Reginal manger. Never will I recommend these apartments until Carla Hart & Juliana

I visited Brookside on Friday, November 11 to look at a 2-bedroom unit. The apt was small and old. For the price they were asking, it is overpriced. But that's not the reason for my review.
The manager who showed me around appeared pleasant on the surface. However, several comments she made during the course of my tour caused me alarm. She mentioned that she had worked at San Marco Villa's in Baypoint and that "even though I probably shouldn't say this, I'd prefer living there rather than here". So far it's been the best complex I have lived in. We have been here for 3 years and are only leaving because we are in dire need of more space as our family grows (having a baby). The complex is relatively quiet and I rarely hear my neighbors (I have had several new neighbors throughout the years so I don't think it's because they were all quiet). I lived at the brand new San Marco Villas and other complexes over the hill, i'd always hear my neighbors getting down in their business which was not pleasant, as well as conversations etc, this does not happen here, sure you don

The management team of Carla and Uliana are awesome, courteous, and very respectful. I had an excellent 20 months living here. The grounds are well maintained. Staff is laid back in a good way and don't nitpick the small stuff. VERY dog friendly. There are college kids but they don't party hard..not the way I did it at least. It's a small percentage and they seem more interested in learning then socializing...strange.

Numerous changes were made since my last review. There was a new manager and the maintenance staff that had previously been nice courteous and hardworking was now gone. The maintenance people they replaced them with were never seen around the complex as much as the previous maintenance. The new management was all about the money and not personable. They keep jacking the rent to pay for apartments that haven't been updated since the 90's. When you move out however they change everything in the apartment and make you pay for it on your way out. I just moved in here at Brookside and my experience, thus far, has been amazing!! From the very first day I walked in, to inquire about a reasonably priced one bedroom, Carla welcomed me with open arms. It wasn't long after talking to Carla and seeing the ideally located property that I wanted Brookside to be my new home. I am updating my review as a resident :) My family and I are happily moved in. Our neighbors have come to meet us and our kids play in the grassy areas with the other children.
Sam was great and very accommodating. He was professional and personable- casual and comfortable. He did everything he could to welcome us and off any moving-in incentives.
As a resident, our apartment has an awesome toilet flush Seriously. It's awesome. I like the counters. Sam had new laminate put in in place of carpet in the dining room. That saves me hours of picking rice off of the carpet after dinner. We
