Melillo's in downtown Louisville shut down in 2008. Bill Silvio Melillo wanted to give Louisville another taste of the Melillo family Italian cooking. In 2015 Bill purchased his new location on Fairfax Ave and began constructing Silvios. Since it opened in 2015, Silvios restaurant has been met with a warm reception from Louisville diners.
Bill wants you to fell like part of the family at Silvios. As Bill put it, This is all homemade. There is a lot of love and work that goes into it. We will all return. I've been called a food snob and this place surpasses my rigid standards.

Services
Opened in 2015, Silvio's Italian Restaurant serves Louisville the best and most delicious Italian American Cuisine. I came here after attending the Kentucky Derby this past Saturday and was thrilled with their service. I called them on our way from the track and they. Stopped here for dinner with the family as the place had stellar reviews both on Google and Yelp.
Arborio rice, stuffed with fresh mozzarella and Parmigiano Reggiano, fried and topped with marinara. A fragrant dish of grilled shrimp topped with capers, sun-dried tomatoes and lemon zest, served with polenta and grilled broccolini. Nonna's cheese lasagna, layered with our homemade meatballs, ricotta, mozzarella, and Parmigiana Reggiano.
We will all return. I've been called a food snob and this place surpasses my rigid standards. If you are craving Italian food and are in Louisville, Silvio's is a must! Business brings me to town one month out of the year and this place is a weekly (sometimes more) stop. The caesar salad has, hands-down, the best tasting dressing I've ever had.
I really appreciate Bill and his lovely wife! His restaurant is his family - and it shows. When visiting here as a vendor or a guest you feel welcomed. Food always fresh and priced valuable - I would recommend Silvio's to any of my friends, clients or family! We had the greatest restaurant experience tonight at Silvio's.

Delicious food in a lovely, intimate atmosphere with an owner who greets you like family. What more can you ask for? Reservations are necessary because this is not a large restaurant. Dress is casual but don't show up in sweats. Your dress should match the understated elegance of the experience you will be having.

I am so happy to have finally tried this place that is just around the corner from my house. I'm glad to report it is definitely worth going back to again!
The ambience was casual and the restaurant was crowded, but we still got very quick service throughout our meal. I wasn't in the mood for wine, so instead ordered a dirty martini - food and beverage wise this was the only disappointment of the evening. The martini had been shaken (sorry, James Bond was wrong on this) and there were lots of ice pieces in my drink. The next one I ordered I made sure to specify stirred and that one came

Nice place for an Italian dinner. The food was very good - not the best I've ever had, but perfectly acceptable.
The atmosphere was cozy but it was very loud so a bit of a challenge to have a conversation.
Best part of the meal was the caesar salad- it was fresh and perfectly dressed. I also tried a side of risotto. It was okay, not a lot of flavor.
The eggplant parm was fine. Breading was a little thick and sauce was runny but flavors were good.
Service was fine, not spectacular but no issues.
Overall, visit was fine.

So this is my partner's favorite restaurant in Louisville and now I know why. We started off with the antipasto and it was delicious! On recommendation from the chef, put some Gorgonzola on the bread and top with the sweet peppers; he wasn't wrong!
I got the pork chop and I think it's the best in town unseeding Jack Fry's as they are now #2. It was moist and tender with a ton of flavor and the vegetables were cooked to perfection!
Since it was her birthday she got two cannolis that were to die for! I can't wait to go back and try more.
Highly recommend making a

First thing's first:
**************** DO NOT **************
buy mixed drinks or cocktails at this establishment. I just paid $12 for a G&T. Not a signature cocktail with a fun name that tastes like fruit and spring break or whiskey and grandma's medicine cabinet.
Gin. And tonic. In a rocks glass. With a wedge of lime.
The total for three drinks came to $.98 less than a **bottle** of that same gin.
Bananas.
That being said, the food was truly quality. My friend and I enjoyed the caprese salad, chicken parm, and meatball lasagna. All were made fresh with top-shelf ingredients

Excellent food. Authentic flavors. Reminds me of home. Mr Silvio came out to visit and took the time to talk to everyone. Classic and we will be back. I was going to take picture of my good but I ate it too quick. Meatballs are huge and made perfect. The waiter could’ve come by more often as he did to other tables but the food made up for it

First time there with daughter. First need to get reservation next time, we walked in and they still somehow squeezed us in it to a little time but the staff and owners make you feel like your home!!! We ordered the seafood pasta, & the grilled pork chop. Both where amazing!! Also found out that the great HOF-Green Bay Packer RB-Paul Hornung used to frequent this restaurant! I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a great Italian food experience in a great friendly atmosphere!! The owners make you feel like family!!!
P.S. We also got the Tiramisu and Cannolis to go ... they where awesome

Called ahead to make sure we could get a table for an early weeknight dinner and we were lucky enough to be seated right away! We started with Rice Ball appetizer and salads, Beets & Baby Kale and a Grilled Romaine for me. For dinner, my wife ordered the Bolognese (she cannot bring herself to order anything different when we dine here) while I opted for the Italian Sausage Lasagna! As usual, everything from the drinks to the dessert, service and the usual visit from the owner, were right on point! Cannot go wrong with a dinner (planned with reservations or not) at Silvio's!

Great Italian food and an awesome staff! Dining here is a real treat. The entire staff treat you as old friends and make you feel right at home. We had the chicken parm and baked ziti, both which rivaled any we have ever had. I have traveled to Italy quite a bit and this is better than many places I've eaten there. I can highly recommend Silvio's! We will definitely be back!

Celebrated our anniversary at Silvio's and service was great. We really enjoyed the food as well. The baked ziti came recommended so I got that. I switched the spicy Italian sausage out for sweet. Portions were huge and the sauce was bold and delicious. My husband got the chicken parmesan, which he liked. We also had salads, the house dressing was good and lemoncello cake for dessert which was really good!

I recommend getting their Diablo sauce and the baked zitti. The baked zitti was the cheesiest with goat and mozzarella. The spicy sausage in it was to die for. Both of the dishes came with a heap size of meat ball. A portion way big enough for one person. For appetizer I recommend ordering a side of their olive oil and balsamic vinegar for $1. It elevated our bruschetta and free bread. The owner was very friendly who greeted and chatted with each of the customers. He said he got all of his sausage and cheases from New Jersey. It's a family run place with his daughter as the waitress and his

Great little place. This place is the true definition of family owned & operated. Mrs. Silvio greeted us at the door as hostess, Mr. Silvio made his rounds in the small dining area greeting & thanking customers for coming in & their daughter was our waitress. The food was excellent & full of flavor. I highly recommend Silivo's! Check out my pork chop dinner. It was so tender, I could cut it with my fork!

During the current covid situation, the social distancing was good. We sat outside in the alley way seating area and had plenty of space. However, that was probably the only positive of the night.

Mussels and calamari were good. Then we get our wine.
There was something swirling in the bottom of my glass after I poured my wine (that was opened at the table). Couldn't drink the rest of my wine.

It had been a while since we had gone out for Italian. Impressed by the reviews, I recommended to my husband that we try out this restaurant.
I ordered the Meatball Lasagna, he the Pasta with Seafood, and our friend got the Chicken Alfredo. We also had the Calamari and Rice Ball apps. You can tell their food is made with love and authentic! The chef was friendly, and came around to speak with everyone, too.
Normally, I do not order dessert when I go out to eat. I made an exception for this place because every dessert looked phenomenal! We settled on the tiramisu, but next time we go back
