Note: The ordering system does not adjust the times given based on how busy the restaurant is at that time. A typical order will be complete within 10-15 minutes but during a busy time, some orders may take 20-25 minutes at times. If you would like an exact pickup time, please feel free to call the restaurant after placing your order!
We needed food on a Saturday night and all the open places were not picking up the phone (too busy). Decided to try Dry dock for dinner thinking it would be a gamble since it was an 'ice cream' place. Wow.food impressive & fresh! Crab cakes, flounder and burgers.delicious! Great tasting ice cream. Their ordering and pick up system is flawless.
We are currently looking for the following positions for 2021. Main responsibilities include (but not limited to): Take orders, deliver food, serve ice cream and keep the restaurant clean. Main responsibilities include (but not limited to): Food preparation, organize orders, work with wait staff & keep the restaurant clean.
The Cape May dining experience is one all vacationers must experience when traveling to the South Jersey Shore. Each location has some great options, but Cape May New Jersey is famous for their restaurants and dining. During your trip to Cape May, we may be a bit biased, but we highly recommend stopping by the Dry Dock Restaurant for lunch, dinner or dessert!

Delicious fresh ice cream. Many flavors to choose from and toppings. They also make sundaes and milkshakes as well. I would say this a classic ice cream shop with some modern additions. The ice cream was light and airy which I enjoyed because it tasted fresh and less dense than commercial products. Very enjoyable.

Nothing special , messed up our order and order/waiting area was chaos leading to my 7.5 month pregnant wife giving me a hard time all the way home about her lame ice cream haha . They have signs that say to order at register first but it's an ice cream store everyone is going to go look through the glass first and decide what flavor they want . So during summer at a prime time at night this turns into chaos in there . A bunch of different people asking each other if the others are in line and no one knows where the line starts or begins . We finally order a milk shake and a 2 scoop cone with

Fellow Yelper Dee M and I stopped by Dry Dock right after I made a Wawa cash run on a sunny August morning. Dee went ahead of me, so when I arrived she was getting a marvelous looking ice cream sundae. Mmmm.
Dry Dock is in a busy area of Cape May, lots of cars coming in and out of the town. It's an old fashioned Dutch Barn type structure, and there are surprisingly comfortable (i.e. not burning hot or digging into your legs) metal patio table & chair sets with good sized umbrellas. I looked at their very good selection of

Prepare to have cash, because this place ALWAYS declines my card.So then I have to go next door to wawa go the atm take out cash (there is an extra fee that have to pay since I used the atm)and then go back to dry dock and pay and get my either melted ice cream or ice frozen ice cream.Maybe it should be called CLOSED dock instead of dry dock . Go to Ben and Jerry's on the mall.

If you're in need of ice cream this is your place. I'm personally a huge fan of their soft serve but my wife loves their regular ice cream. However, if your going for the food, stay away from the fish. A friend of mine had a fish bone stuck in their throat and had to go to the ER to have it removed.

Food: I know they offer actual food here but I only came here for ice cream. The ice cream was just that, nothing really special in my opinion. A good spot to stop by and grab a dessert but not a place where I would plan to stop by to grab ice cream.
Cost: I thought the ice cream was on the expensive side for what it was. There is nothing special about the ice cream and so the price doesn't justify for what it is worth.
Environment: The store had a fun feeling to it. It carries through with the theme of a beach adventure day. There are some seating outside with umbrellas to protect you

Nice big array of options for ice cream. Asked the girl if there was any dairy free ice cream and she seemed confused which I get but she did not look happy to be there. When asked which was her favorite, she hesitated and then said it. I ended up getting banana and rainbow sherbet with some Oreo cookie on top. Pretty good ice cream, nice little place. Customer service wasn't where I would've liked it but the ice cream and the company I was with, makes it 99% better.

NOTE: This review is solely based on the food and NOT the ice-cream.
We ordered a couple burgers to go. We finally got our order after about 20 minutes of waiting even though the place was virtually empty (only one other customer purchased ice cream in the 20 minutes we were waiting).
When we got home, we discovered our burgers themselves to be cardboard-like in flavor and very dry. The buns and fries, however, were moist and greasy.
Next time, we'll just stick to their ice-cream. You can't screw up ice-cream.

My first time here. They had delicious ice cream. I had moose tracks, my son had mint chocolate chip and my wife and daughter split a s'mores sundae. I was the only one inside who ordered and one of the people working there helped me carry the ice cream outside as I wouldn't have been able to carry all the ice cream in one trip. Very friendly staff and will come back if ever in the area again.

Disappointed.
Used to love the place - cones & shakes in great flavors. Service is what you always get with high school kids: some great, some still learning.
But today was a true disappointment. For $3:00, my wife expected the usual generous serving, but got a skimpy single scoop. She even commented to the server, who responded with a shrug, like "waddaya want?"
We hope this was a one-time error, and will go back ONCE to confirm. But if this is the new face of Dry Dock, we will sail away.

As a kid this was my favorite ice cream place on the island. They have a great selection with endless topping options.
There is outdoor seating and they serve food too. It's typical burgers and cheesteaks. Nothing to write home about but really great place for kids. When your order from the kids menu your meal is served on a dry dock frisbee. Is there anything better then eating off a free frisbee as a kid?

The Dry Dock is the type of place you want to go to when you are down the shore.
Family owned and operated with a full menu of ice cream and other yummy desserts and plenty of fried and grilled foods to order if you are hungry for more than dessert. I have never ordered food here, but it has all looked pretty delicious from what I have seen. My kids usually ride their bikes here for a sweet afternoon pick-me-up after a full day of boogie-boarding, wave-jumping, beach football, and sand castle building.
There is plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy summer at the beach.
