Services
The First Presbyterian Church of Columbia, South Carolina brought their vision of a christian counseling center - a place that would serve both the church and the community - to life in the late 1980s.

Over the last twenty years The Christian Counseling Center has grown to include thirteen Licensed Professional Counselors, six Licensed Professional Counseling Associates, one Staff Psychiatrist, five administrative staff, and continual openings for graduate intern counselors. Each year thousands of people are helped in Columbia and the surrounding area through the services of The Christian Counseling Center of First Presbyterian Church.
We offer a customized course of treatment tailored to meet each client's individual needs. Through Individual Counseling, our therapists work one-on-one with the client to resolve root issues and achieve treatment goals. The Boundaries Intensive Workshop is a 10-hour therapy experience designed to lay a foundation for understanding the basic concepts of boundary setting.
As a 501(c)(3), the Christian Counseling Center offers counseling to individuals, regardless of their ability to pay. We do this through the generous donations of our partners in ministry. Your support of the Counseling Center contributes to hundreds of sessions each year. Please consider being the method God uses to continue his work here.

Please, please save yourself time and heartache and seek out better counseling. I have serious ethical complaints that I made known to my therapist and to the director Tom Barbian and was totally blown off. I nearly lost everything under their care. Unless you want to pray it away and be reminded that as a woman you are second to your husband.......please I beg you go somewhere else.

Very disappointed with the counselor there! My husband has to leave the program half way through due to unexpected job relocation, the counselor got very offended and charged us $700 for it. I don't see any Christian care or concern for my husband at all except the counselor worried about losing his payment.
