Services
Relationship counseling incorporates the skills and information for a healthy relationship. Much of what we will share involves the research of Drs. John and Julie Gottman who have studied couples for many years and know what is present in healthy relationships. Many people think of communication simply as verbal communication, a straightforward way to get their message across to others.
Suite 2247 of the Medical Arts Building at 1169 Eastern Parkway, Louisville, Kentucky 40217. While we do not accept insurance, we are more than willing to print an insurance form so that you might be reimbursed. Your health savings account will also most likely cover the cost of counseling. We are out-of-network with all insurance providers, and we do not accept Medicaid or Medicare payments.
If you would like to consult with John about a referral, feel free to email him johneturnerlmft@gmail.com. He is happy to share ideas with you for future help. John has served as adjunct faculty with the University of Louisville Kent School of Social Work, the University of Louisville Family Therapy Program and taught a course on couple work at Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary.
Use this questionnaire to assess your marriage on a regular basis to see if you are on the right track. Sometimes couples can get off track without even recognizing it. This questionnaire will give you some idea for what to "tweak" or talk over with your partner. Answer each question with a Y for yes or N for no.
Through our many years of experience, we know a lot that we can share with you about healthy relationships and how to solve your problems. In addition to our experience, we also draw on the work of John Gottman, PhD, a researcher from The University of Seattle, who has spent a great deal of time studying healthy couples and has determined the components of healthy relationships.
