Our founding partner, Joshua D. Zelman, was born and raised in Miami-Dade County. The son of two small business owners, he learned the value of hard work and a good name at an early age. He attended high school at MAST Academy where he was heavily involved in the only Coast Guard Junior ROTC program in the country.
If you have been arrested and charged with a crime in Tallahassee, it is essential that you contact an experienced Tallahassee criminal defense attorney as soon as possible. The things you say or do after an arrest - and the things you don't say or do - are critical to the outcome of your case and can either serve you well or seriously jeopardize your situation.
Crimes of violence and assault typically include robbery, battery on a law enforcement officer, home invasion, aggravated assault, aggravated battery, murder, manslaughter, resisting arrest, and other crimes that involve the serious injury or even death of another person. Violent crimes are not taken lightly in the State of Florida, and almost always result in prison time, restitution, and large fines.
College is supposed to be a carefree learning adventure, one in which you explore new things, gain new views, and try on new personas until you find the true you. During all that exploration, you might find yourself doing things that you normally wouldn't - including committing crimes. Whether intentional or unintentional, if commit a crime during your college years, it can negatively affect your future.
If you have been arrested for driving under the influence (DUI), you may feel embarrassed or ashamed and just want the charge to go away as quickly as possible. The truth is, however, that a DUI in Florida can in many ways have more serious consequences than being convicted of other, more "serious" crimes.

Josh went above and beyond what normal attorneys do for their clients. He helped me file a motion and in less than two weeks after hiring him he’d already done all the footwork talking to the prosecutor and all involved parties and had the motion granted the same day he filed it. He’s very good at communicating with you unlike other attorneys and is quick to respond to any questions you might have. He’s very knowledgeable and honest, he’s not going to charge you for something he doesn’t think is possible. I would highly recommend him and will be sure to use him for any future legal issues

I would like to take this time to express my gratitude for a job well done by Joshua Zelman. He came highly recommended by a family member. He surpassed our expectations, therefore our case was resolved in a timely manner with a favorable outcome. His strong legal background was displayed and very evident throughout the process.

My son got a very high speeding ticket and I hired Mr. Zelman to represent him. Josh went way over the call of duty and looked in on my son who was struggling with some issues at school with ADHD. He took the time to talk to my son about this condition and told him about services available at his college . I found Mr Zelman to be a very professional attorney who also is a compassionate human being interested in his client's complete person not just the law issue he was hired for . Highly recommend .

Josh Zelman is an honest and professional lawyer. He's kind to his clients and works hard at helping people receive justice. He works with you on payments, is understanding, keeps you in the loop, and really cares about his clients getting the end result they wish to achieve. He was awesome to me for my cases and I'd recommend him to anyone I know in a heart beat.

I have hired Mr Zelman twice to represent me on two different cases. I have a long criminal history and each time was facing a prison sentence. Mr Zelman kept me informed throughout each case, he called me often and sent emails for everything. He worked hard to keep me in society so I could be with my family. I consulted with other lawyers before Mr Zelman, other lawyers said they couldn't promise nothing due to my extensive criminal background. Mr Zelman fought for me regardless of my past. I would recommend Mr Zelman to anyone who wants a good lawyer to defend them. He even worked out a payment

Having witnessed first hand his hard work, dedication to clients, and competence in the knowledge of his profession; I would suggest to everyone I hold near and dear to first seek his advice before making a legal decision. (in my experience: bad reviews often come from those who refuse to follow good advice)

I have followed this guy to 5 separate law firm's for 2 auto accident cases that have been going on for five years now. Not only does he obviously not get along with other lawyers to where he needs to constantly move firms, but he also failed to file suit on my motorcycle accident case that resulted in injury caused by a safety recall that has since passed the statute of limitations. I'm now stuck with tens of thousands of dollars in hospital/ medical bills and can't even get him to return my call for over a year! Did I also mention that he had me organize my own case files because he fired his

Representation by Zelman costs a considerable amount more than comparable attorneys. I hired Zelman for a VOP under a flat fee agreement and he made several promises to address a conflict with the prosecutor, which he failed to honor. My VOP involved a deficient toxicology result. Zelman did not contact the toxicology company, did not review procedural requirements, and based the theory of defense on his own personal hypothetical beliefs in regards to assumed deficiencies. Zelman sought additional funds to hire a toxicologist and cancelled all court dates until he received the demanded amount.
