College Animal Hospital
College Animal Hospital is now under new ownership and is proudly owned by 2 local veterinarians. We are so happy to update all of our diagnostic equipment and provide state-of-the-art care to our San Diego community. Our goal is to provide complete, extraordinary veterinary service at affordable and fair prices.

Come meet our amazing team! We are happy to have Dr. Vanessa Hoard on our team! Dr. Hoard grew up in Miami, Fl and received her bachelors of science in biology from George Washington University. She graduated from Western University of Health Sciences for Veterinary Medicine in Pomona, CA in 2009 and completed a small animal internship at Animal Surgical and Emergency Center in Santa Monica in 2010.
Services
At College Animal Hospital, our state-of-the-art digital x-ray machine allows us to take extremely detailed radiographs of your pet to help for a rapid, accurate diagnosis. Many animals live with severe, even life threatening, dental disease show minimal to no symptoms of discomfort or disease at all.
At College Animal Hospital we understand that making the decision to have your pet undergo surgery may be a difficult one. All of our doctors are highly skilled and experienced in veterinary surgery. They have undergone rigorous training starting with specialized surgical internships and have a wide range of surgical experience.
Cranial cruciate ligament rupture is the most common orthopedic problem that we treat in dogs. In humans, we have an anterior cruciate ligament (or ACL) in our knee which is the same thing as the dog's cranial cruciate ligament. ACL tears in people are common and usually occur with an injury or sporting incident.
We are now offering Class IV Laser Therapy at College Animal Hospital. Therapy Lasers have been proven to be successful in treating pain and many acute and chronic conditions - decreasing pain and inflammation - speeding the healing process. We are excited to offer this amazing therapy to our patients.
At College Animal Hospital, we provide full service, professional veterinary dental oral care and surgery. Veterinary dental disease often goes unnoticed because your pets cannot tell you when they have a dental problem, making it difficult for you to know when they need treatment. Frequent oral exams and preventative dental cleanings are recommended for the health of your pet.

The staff here is great! I brought my sassy former foster/stray cat to them and they totally took care of her. So glad I found them!

This was our 1st time at College Animal Hospital. I called and let them know I was worried about her (my dog) being in pain. Was told there had been a cancelation and they fit me in. I believe they are knowledgeable and caring. So far I feel that I would like to continue them.

Doctor Hoard and the vet technician were highly professional, personable and competent. The doctor gave my almost 13 year old cat a thorough examination. She and the vet technician answered all of my questions in detail. I highly recommend them.

My experience since the change in ownership has been night and day. The staff are rude and uncaring. I recently called seeking an appointment for my Dog that I suspected had kennel cough. I was told the soonest appointment was 2 weeks. This was my first experience with kennel cough, so I asked a few questions. She explained rudely, "Ma'am I can't diagnose a cough over the phone, see an emergency vet if you're worried". Of course I wasn't expecting a diagnosis over the phone by a vet tech, I just wanted to know if it was an emergency if my Dog was continuing to eat and drink normally, and no change

I might be WAY off in left field here, but in my personal opinion... if you're going to hire someone to answer your business phone, you should probably make sure that person is educated, well-spoken, AND well-mannered enough to represent You and Your Business, as the the face thereof, in your stead. As well as knowledgeable enough about the business itself to actually ANSWER the questions patrons (and Would-Be patrons) are calling with! Preferably WITHOUT having to be put on hold for several minutes while they run off somewhere to ask someone else for the answer. Repeatedly! For every question
