Just like humans, massage can be beneficial for relaxation, rehabilitation, or for keeping competition and working dogs in peak condition. It should never be used in place of good veterinary care, but it can be used in conjunction with the medical care your veterinarian prescribes. Many veterinarians are even making massage a part of their treatment plans.

Massage can increase energy, concentration, and alertness. It can also heighten immune system function, promote longevity, and can slow degenerative processes. The initial assessment includes a discussion with you, the owner, of the current overall health of your dog, current activity level, medical conditions and medications he or she is currently taking.
Services
I am a Registered Veterinary Technician and have been working mostly in veterinary surgery for the last 19 years. In 2009, I became a Certified Canine Bodyworker through Caninology. My goal is to make your pet feel more comfortable, ease discomfort, provide relaxation, and help him or her just plain feel good.
My goal is to make you and your pup feel great. If you don't find what you're looking for here, feel free to contact me and we can discuss a customized plan to meet your needs. Check with your dog's insurance to see if massage is covered. Many insurance packages are covering alternative medicine, acupuncture, chiropractic, and massage.
This little character is all personality! Paddington is an active guy with a busy schedule and needs to feel like he's in tip top condition to play on the beach and keep his dog walker on his toes! Paddington has a heart murmur, so his mom got him a five massage package and we worked on keeping the muscles of his back, shoulders, and neck relaxed so he could continue his quest for "Cutest Cocker Spaniel on the West Coast."
Contact me to discuss how massage can add to your dog's wellbeing. If it's to help with rehabilitation, prevent further pain, or just to help her relax and feel good, massage can help. You can also contact me to discuss and schedule administration of injectable medications and subcutaneous fluids for your pet (in the Oakland and San Leandro area only).
