After years of suffering at the hands of Carlsen Subaru's terrible maintenance department, I discovered A+ Japanese (I have a high mileage Outback that needed suspension rebuilt).
A+ Japanese communicates (every step of the process), is transparent (photos of all problems), serves the customer (from loaner to recommending which maintenance could be deferred), and are true gear heads (the work was immaculate, and reflected a true love of what they do; unlike the recent WyoTech grad children dealerships service centers employ).
Highly recommend A+ Japanese. True professionals live here.

My catalytic converter was stolen and A+ Japanese was recommended by many people in my NextDoor. I called up, they explained the exact sequence of events they would take care of after I had the car towed (examine, give estimate, deal with insurance company, repair) and they did it all quickly and efficiently, keeping me informed throughout. Justin was a pleasure to deal with.

I was overdue for a service on my 2015 Subaru WRX. I worked with Seamus who let me know they'd go through my car to find what needed servicing. The next day they sent a very detailed inspection report with pictures. I talked with Seamus about the needed items and he gave me a price breakdown. The day after my car was ready for pickup. Their pricing seemed fair and they acted quickly and professionally throughout the process. Very happy with my experience and I plan on going back for future services.

Finally! A place I feel confident to take my car to for repairs. Justin and Jason usually are the guys I've worked with and I trust them 100%. Very professional, friendly and great communicators. They explain issues and solution options in way that I can understand. A+ is also taking safety precautions by wearing masks and disinfecting vehicles before handing back to its owner. Awesome team all around!

I've taken two of my cars here for basic service (oil change and inspection) and it's been incredibly convenient for me.

In both instances, they came back with a full report letting me know what needs to be addressed right away and in the future. Most of the time at other car shops, they'll push you to do these things without any proof, but at A+ they provide a detailed report with pictures.

The quality of service is fantastic. Seamus and Ace have helped me and they are great. The quality of work is great as well.

This was my first time getting my car serviced so I had some silly questions, but they answered professionally and straight to the point. I was also nervous about getting up-charged; as a young woman, I have heard this is a problem in the auto industry. But I got all of the necessary fixes done— no more no less— at a fair price. Will definitely return to get some of those “deferred service” items done!

Never would I have thought I would feel compelled to write a glowing review for a mechanic - but A+ did such an amazing job. I have a tough car - ‘87 samurai - very old and in need of TLC, difficult to source parts AND I was limited in my desire to invest a ton of money.
Justin and his team were so amazing - they were thorough in a way I’ve never seen from another mechanic - they broke down what needed to get done, what I should do but could wait on, etc. when a fix got expensive - they would outline various options/scenarios and on more than one occasion quoted me more than the cost ended

Top notch service. Seriously the best and friendliest service experience I've ever had with a mechanic/auto shop.

Love that they send you a detailed email/ report with photos and suggestions for repairs and how urgent the recommended repair is.

I had a bad experience at a different shop and I came to A+ Japanese so they can help me resolve my check engine light. Little did I know that they will also provide the opportunity for me stand up for myself with the other shop. I appreciate their transparency and the information provided so the other shop could fix their incomplete job. Now my car is operating normal. Manifesting that they can be my reliable car shop. My car has been making this weird noise even tho I got it serviced in May from a dealership. I wanted to get this issue resolved so I found this place through Yelp since it was close by my work.

They were responsive, professional and efficient. They looked at my car last minute and found an appointment for me right away. They gave detailed notes on what they did to my car via text. They took the time to hear my concerns and explained what they found (in a non condescending way) . Customer service is definitely 5 stars. Highly would recommend.

Took my 2019 Honda Civic in for a servicing. I was impressed they have a home car pickup service. In fact they will pay for an Uber if you drop off your car and don't have a ride to work. You have to call a day or two in advance for special pick up drop off situations but they will
accommodate . If they keep your car for over 2 days they will loan you a rental car.

If you utilize transportation services be aware that you will forfeit one day without much car servicing action , as your car is placed last on the cue and estimates may not occur until the second day in the afternoon. I would

Lack of transparency, trust! More expensive than the dealerships that we typically avoid for these very reasons! As one of the other reviewers stated, please read through the first set of reviews to know what to expect.

Took my Nissan Leaf in to fix the charge port door and headlights. Was told the main harness had rodent damage and would cost $7k-8k (the car's value is only $4-$5k). The service tech suggested that insurance would cover rodent damage. (Car is always garaged and have never had rodents in my garage but giving them the benefit of doubt). I've been here a couple times and if it's one thing that I really like about a repair shop is that they're not as much concerned as money as the quality of work that the customer will be getting. Shamus has worked with me a couple of times now and we have been texting back-and-forth over the phone and I really enjoy this guy because he is also a car enthusiast like myself and wants to make sure that I'm happy with my service and make suggestions that will improve the performance of my car I have a 2017 Infiniti Q 60.

Tl;dr: if you're reading the reviews to try and decide whether to work with A+, absolutely go for it!

I'd been putting off taking my car for maintenance for NO idea how long because I know next to nothing about cars and the process freaks me out. But -- and I can't believe I'm saying this -- the experience at A+ Japanese Auto Repair actually makes me look *forward* to my next service.

The folks at A+ made the process as painless as possible. The pick-up and drop-off services alone were worth it: efficient, contact-free, and a huge relief so I could do other things instead

My Prius was making a weird and expensive noise, I was really worried it was getting worse! That's when I found this place! Shamus was extremely nice and professional the entire time, they were very accommodating as well.

When I initially left it they weren't sure what noise I was hearing, they reached out and asked if I could drive with the mechanic. I actually appreciated their honesty and came in. I did a 5 min drive with the mechanic and explained what I heard. He knew exactly what the issue was shortly after.

They got back to me quickly and of course it was a big issues. Shamus

These guys are "Peace of Mind" FANTASTIC! Our cars are extensions of ourselves and after having both my cars, an older Lexus and Honda serviced from A+, it's this feeling I rarely have... Both cars are working wonderfully. That they are safe and in top performance.

The Honda has air conditioning again! The Lexus purrs again. I was also impressed these guys care about me! Returning my car washed and delivered, key handed to me after being sanitized.

I was also impressed with the price. I was expecting the bill to be 50% higher. I felt honored. A+ is my new go-to. They named themselves

One of the best service experiences I can recall for any car service. Professional and consultative, always providing updates. Manny picked up our van from our home (not driven for a year), and he later returned a van looking like it just came from the showroom. Justin was helpful and available throughout, and he handled all details without me leaving my house. Very happy and look forward to long term service relationship.

Super friendly. Nice! Thank you Seamus and all the mechanics for taking care of my car. They will call you a Lyft back home, after dropping off your car. Your service will include sanitization of your vehicles, and vacuuming of your vehicle.

I drove down to Arizona, from San Mateo California. When I was driving back, my air conditioner stopped working. Seamus and the mechanics figured out what happened right away.

Beware.... read past the first few reviews to see multiple people warning of excessive prices. Went here for first time and wish I had just went to dealer as prices are even higher here!! Don't be fooled by "Free Pickup/Delivery"..... just a classic marketing scheme. The price will be added to your service. First and last time here...
Hope that extra $200-$300 was worth losing a potential future customer and those who read a honest review. I paid for a full days labor if labor is $100/hr for about a three hour job. But i got a " free pickup/ delivery".
