Low Stress Many dogs and cats experience stress during their trip to the vet. Not here. We believe that gold-standard care starts with reducing stress levels. Besides being difficult for a pet owner to see, stress alters a pet's body temperature, blood pressure, and heart rate. These measurements are critical to assessing a pet's overall health, meaning stress can make it difficult to know whether a real health issue is present or not.
As a dog or cat ages, they face new health risks and challenges, and require new kinds of care. We help you navigate everything, from pain management, to catching chronic health conditions early, to diet and lifestyle, and everything in between. We'll help you make their golden years their happiest years yet.

Imagine if you never brushed your teeth or had them cleaned. Pretty frightening, right? As you can imagine, things would eventually start to go very, very bad inside your mouth: teeth would rot and decay, gums would become inflamed and infected. Bacteria from those rotting teeth would eventually travel into your bloodstream and could cause other serious health problems.
Surgery is often the most effective way to treat many serious injuries and disorders, and Northwest Animal Hospital is proud to offer state-of-the-art facilities and equipment. Our hospital provides a full range of surgical services ranging from standard spaying and neutering to advanced, highly specialized procedures.

Do not take your animal here. Our dog could not walk due to a sudden bad left leg. He couldnt put any weight on it. We tried to get in to our vet but they told us to bring him northwest animal hospital. I walked in and explained to the male receptionist who told me someone would be out with a cart to carry the dog in. Thats it.
We waited for 50 something minutes with no one calling to inform us of anything. I called twice for update when they would be out. I thought they forgot about us.
I understand its a ER. Just inform me at some point how long I will be waiting. That would give me chance

If you want to go absolutely broke paying for vet bills & medications for your pet, then go here. They completely make people over pay. One medicine I got for my pet cost $80 for 8 capsules at Northwest Animal Hospital. I looked on Chewy, it costs $5 for a 34 capsule bottle. Insane how much they make you over pay not for just meds but for everything.

Took my 5 month-old lab/pit mix puppy to this vet for an examination and will not be returning! This was the worst vet experience I have ever had. My dog has visited other veterinary offices previously and was treated with great success. At Northwest Animal Hospital, the vet stated my puppy was anxious and going to BITE if she completed the exam simply because the puppy was a little shaky and looked at me "in a weird way"- whatever that means! In my opinion, my dog was slightly nervous to be in a new environment with new people (after-all she is a baby!) but showed no signs of aggression

The vet is extremely unprofessional. Multiple times she failed to provide the services i requested as the reason for my visit. Every time the office tried to up charge me for additional services i didn't request. On my last visit she was supposed to take a blood sample and uralysis but my dog did not want to pee apparently. The vet said no sweat we will get the Urine during the follow up visit. What she did not mention was that the combined blood sample and uralysis price was no longer the price and it was going to cost 46$ more to get the uralysis on my next visit. Furthermore my dog was

I have been a client of NWAH for 62 years. If that doesn't tell you something about the quality of staff and veterinarians who have served thousands of pets and their owners over the years, I don't know what will! From the original veterinarian who founded NWAH -- Dr. Robert Ewing -- through the current ownership, NWAH IS THE GOLD STANDARD for expertise, knowledge, compassion and ongoing care of each and every cat and dog that has the privilege of having NWAH as their primary care provider.

These people are money hungry. They automatically require a physical exam for any little thing you may need for your dog. I came in to get the influenza shot earlier this month. They required a physical exam beforehand to make sure my dog was healthy enough to receive it. I thought that was totally fine and reasonable seeing as how her last check up was about five months prior.
However, I came in again to get my dog's booster shot only three weeks after the initial flu visit. THREE WEEKS. They told me they needed to have another exam done to make sure she's still healthy. For reference

I had been seeing this vet for my elderly cat's health issues since moving to the area. The treatment seemed fine. But when my sweet, beloved cat took a turn for the worst, suffering horribly, this vet was "too busy" to see him. They truly could not have cared any less. My cat did die that day, and with no help from these cruel, uncaring people. Stay away.

My parents have taken our dogs here for years so I started taking mine. They explained every cost before doing anything, which I appreciated, and then worked with me on the cost and what was the most important. My dog is a big scaredy cat and they were so good with him! They gave him a star sticker which I thought was so cute!

My dogs LOVE coming here. Yes, they LOVE the vet. The staff is so friendly and gives them tons of attention (and treats), which makes them happy. They've helped us through some complicated medical issues, which makes ME happy. I used to live within walking distance of this place but even after moving and being closer to other vet offices I still come here. My dogs have as much fun going to the vet as they do on a walk, so I really can't disappoint them and take them elsewhere! Appointments are usually pretty easy to get (especially if you don't mind which vet you see, which

After being a client for nearly 20 years, I am done with NAH. Today I found myself APOLOGIZING for showing up at my appointment time with my mom's dying cat. (There were 2 other clients ahead of us) Dr. Kolb did come in for 5 minutes, stood in the doorway, and told me, "That's bad" as the cat was laboring for breath. He "guessed" that the cat had congestive heart failure, and then talked to me like I was an idiot when I asked questions about what we could do, how long the cat might have, what was likely to happen in the near term (so my mom would have a chance to say
