If you are seeking a greater sense of fulfillment, belonging and peace in life, welcome to Luminous Counseling. People come to me struggling with anxiety, depression, change of life challenges, failure to launch issues, and a host of other flavors of psychological anguish. What we all share, though, is a common human problem of struggling with our own minds to craft a life dedicated to what matters most.

My clients often share that the confidence, joy and connection that was once present has, for one reason or another, slipped away or diminished. Despite great efforts and great intelligence, our happiness seems fleeting and elusive. Whether struggling with anxiety, depression, lack of clarity or purpose, or if you are seeking family or couples counseling, I would like to offer you the possibility of a new way to connect with genuine happiness.
Services
If you had asked me a decade ago what my life would look like ten years from then, I could hardly imagine that I would be here. I had long wanted a life of service, where I could bring my creativity, intelligence, spiritual path and open heart into my work, and at the time, I was struggling to make it as a landscape photographer while working part time in a wilderness gear store.
If you are experiencing marital troubles, communication issues, couples stress, have gone through a major transition and are seeking to better your relationship with your partner, couple counseling may offer a great path towards reconnection with what truly provides a sense of purpose and meaning in life.
I provide therapy out of my office in Boulder, Colorado, and serve emerging adults, families, adults, and couples looking to find greater ease, freedom and fulfillment in their lives. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, ACT (pronounced as the word "act"), is a form of behavioral treatment that emphasizes personal values and processes of mindfulness and acceptance to help clients live more rich, purposeful and fulfilling lives.
I have spent over a decade serving emerging adults and their families as a life skills counselor, therapist and Clinical Director at a nationally renowned private therapeutic program, Living Well Transitions, in Boulder, Colorado. In that time I developed an approach to my work that deeply honors the necessary identity exploration, the healthy skepticism, and the need to experiment and explore possibilities that this phase of life entails.
If you are interested in learning how to apply ACT - Acceptance and Commitment Therapy - into your clinical practice or are looking for a supervisor to support you on your way to gaining your LPC - license as a professional counselor - I can help. My goal as a supervisor is to support clinicians in developing a coherent, flexible, and skillful approach in their work with clients.

As the parent of a 15-year-old, I attended the Life Launch weekend workshop led by Brooks and Dan Fox, and it was very helpful! There was a great balance of structured discussion topics, and time to freely discuss issues as they arose for parents throughout the weekend. Brooks clearly has a solid background in the subject area, and I found his contributions to be warm, insightful, and from the heart. He was also well-informed of recent studies that were relevant to topics that came up over the weekend, and I appreciated the scientific grounding in the work we were doing. I would highly recommend

I just finished a weekend workshop with Brooks and Dan that was excellent and so worth the time commitment! The LifeLaunch Workshop was focused on how we as parents can change our parenting style to most effectively assist our teens as they transition thru the teen years to post high school. The workshop was filled with informative rationale, concrete strategies, discussion, reflection, and practice to implement the techniques discussed. I highly recommend this workshop for every parent of a teen whether they are struggling or not!
