Ugly Crab

Took my wife here for a birthday meal. She loves a good Cajun style seafood boil. We both got lobster & shrimp boils with potatoes & sausage. The spicy butter sauce was perfect. We both left with "happy tummies" as she likes to say. Prices are very reasonable too.

Love Ugly Crab. Prefer over juicy seafood because it’s quieter and the quality of food is the same. Very nice staff

I love this place. I eat here almost every 2 weeks! Their ugly sauce is to die for and I've never had anything like that at all. It's the best and the service is great per usual. I recommend this place to anyone and PLEASE try the ugly sauce that they've created.

I went with friends to Ugly Crab last night. It was fantastic and we had a lot of fun. It was very clean, surprisingly not busy and the service was excellent. The decor was casual but again, super clean and… cute. They have a modest selection of beer, wine and White Claw. The orange slice on the Blue Moon and the lime on the Corona were generous and freshly sliced. Nasty looking bar fruit is so gross and these were perfect. The glassware was heavy crystal cut that reminded me of my grandmother. It was nice. The server was attentive without hovering and clearly explained the different sauces

Delicious, high quality, and fairly priced. Great and welcoming service, 10/10 will be returning.

Excellent restaurant with terrific crablegs. This was a great meal at reasonable prices. We went on a Friday night and was not very busy inside. I got the ugly sauce cooked with my boil and I definitely recommend it. So if you love crab legs and seafood like I do you can't go wrong with the Ugly Crab.

Fan friggin tastic. Load up the family in the mini van and head out. Service was amazing and the food was awesome.

We went back for my wife's birthday and this place is amazing. My entire family lived it. We have eating at places that cost $500 to eat at and this small restaurant in a strip mall beats them all. Enjoy.

I'm surprised this place isn't more busy. This food was amazing. I was recommended the boiling sauce with my dinner and it did not disappoint! It was beyond delicious! Whenever I'm back in town I will be stopping back. Taco was our server and she was a pleasure. Super fun and very attentive.

I wish I could put 0 stars, this is the worst seafood that I have had in years. I got the combo A which was shrimp, crawfish and snow crab with potatoes and corn. The shrimp was old, never got around to eating any of the other food because I found a hair in my food. The sauce was almost a creamy milky sauce it I got the ugly sauce in the heat level fire. The sauce had little to no flavor and was not spicy. I ended up returning this food and got a refund for the hair the hair that was found in my food. Overall would not recommend not because of the hair in my food but because there are so many other

This place was surprisingly delicious. The sauce was wonderful and the crab legs were fresh. As good as they are, there real should be a bigger crowd!!! I'll be back again soon!!!

Ordered take out with less than 30 minutes to close; usually I'm hesitant but the gentleman who took my order insures that it wasn't a problem!

Quoted me 15 minutes for pick-up and my drive there was about 20mins; food was ready and waiting and still pipping hot!

We ordered 1lb of crab legs with spicy boiling sauce and another boil of Combo D (1/2 lb Crab, 1/2 lb Shrimp and Lobster Tail) also with spicy boiling sauce.
The portions were generous and the flavor was outstanding! Huge potatoes and a small ear of corn that were both cooked very well!

I had snow crab muscles with garlic butter. Yum yum yum. May have to get another order. Check this place out you will not be 7n happy.

Seemed empty on a Saturday evening but decided to give it a try. Was not disappointed at all. ordered the snow crab boil with garlic butter sauce. The crab was great and I wanted to live in that sauce, it was so good. Only has one small potato and one piece of corn. The lady did tell me it came with corn and potato so she did not lie. If you want more corn or potato all you have to do is ask. It was very much worth it and I will definitely go back often.

This is my second time visiting Ugly Crab during the Pandemic. Each time I opted for carry out and the food was still hot when I arrived home.

On this last visit I decided to do a build your own combo meal with a pound of shrimp, half pound of green mussels in the ugly sauce and an order of crab rangoons. The seafood was cleaned and cooked to perfection. I did order the sauce in fire but it definitely was not spicy. The biggest disappointment came with the crab rangoons. Which is why I gave them four stars. There was literally no crab in them and the cream cheese mixture was way too sweet. I

It's all about the sauce. Crab legs are crab legs, but the creamy, spicy dipping sauce is what differentiates them from the other places.

Food was good. Server looked like and acted like she was high. My food came out around 5 minutes after my wife got hers. I ordered catfish and received tilapia. My catsup still had the foil seal under the cap. When I told my waitress that I received tilapia instead of catfish she said it was because the kitchen help couldn't speak English. Other than that it was an excellent experience.

So far the best sea food boil I've had in Indiana! They serve free hot buttered croissants, they are very tasty. My husband and I got the combo A which is crawfish, shrimp, and snow crab legs. We added sausage and boiled eggs. We got the boiling sauce (which is a mix of three sauces) and it is sooooo yum!! The seafood tasted fresh and they gave use such a good amount. It was enough for me and my husband and to grub on! The service was great! We had a group of 9 and they gave us a free pound of clams!

Yum yum yum! So I'll admit, the HD score posted on Ugly Crab's page made me hesitate. It's sooooo low! Is it a mistake? Will I get food poisoning? We were so hungry and couldn't shake the craving for seafood boil style food, so we took the risk. Totally worth it! And we did not get sick :)

I'm really thrilled to have this establishment so close to home. We would drive to the location in Avon because it's just that good. I've been to a lot of the seafood boil restaurants in Indy and hands down this is the best one. With seafood boils I find some places are good the first time you come back and it's horrible. Not ugly crab it's consistently delicious and the quality of the seafood is amazing. It taste so fresh. Forget all the others and do yourself a favor just come here!
