According to the Michelin Guide, "Bib Gourmand restaurants are selected by MICHELIN's inspectors because they serve high-quality food available at a reasonable price." The spectators acknowledge that our space is "fit for a king." At our Turkish restaurant, the ambiance and cuisine take center stage.

Wow. This place is simply amazing. If you want to experience some high quality Turkish food-- come to Ottoman Taverna. You won't regret it. I booked this place for my friends birthday and we were impressed by how tasty the food was and the great ambiance. I've been having people recommend me Ottoman Taverna for a while. I now understand the hype around this little gem.
We decided to order tapas style and started with some labneh and hummus with the house made bread. The hummus was amazing and we quickly ordered more. The crowd favorite was the lamb kibbeh and the cigar pastries. My

I came here for restaurant week. However, I decided to do there bottomless brunch. Really yummy, classy ambiance, authentic taste, and fairly good deal. Their regular bottomless brunch comes with unlimited tapas off the menu and drinks for $39. Restaurant week was a three course for $25 pp. I have no complaints about the food, everything tasted good!
Favorites:
Turkish tea
Falafel
Chicken kebab
Cauliflower stew
Dip assortment
This spot was fairly packed I don't know if it was because of restaurant week or just cause if was a Saturday in DC. Nevertheless, book a reservation in advance

Popped by twice now both for a lunch and for their Istanbul breakfast; EXCEPTIONAL spot for dining. First, tea is awesome and served with all the great customs and kindness we remember from our years living on the Turkish coastline! Absolutely no issues with service and it is so great to see so many dishes done so well on their menu! I highly recommend bringing a group and splitting their big courses. Prices are very reasonable considering it’s location in DC and parking can be had for cheap directly across the street!

I visited Ottoman Taverna with four friends for a pre-show brunch on a Sunday. We got there around 11:30 (make a reservation) and by the time we left around 1:30 we were all stuffed and tipsy from bottomless brunch and mimosas and the place was PACKED. (There was only one other table when we first arrived.) This is obviously a place to be for weekend brunch!
The food was amazing! We ordered the bottomless brunch with the bottomless mimosas. The server was able to easily accomodate the two vegetarians at the table. She brought us basically one of every on the menu over the course of two hours.

First time visiting the Ottoman Taverna and we had a wonderful experience! We've tried many Turkish restaurants in the past few years with the hope of having the same experience as eating in a local restaurant in Istanbul. However, none of them completely satisfied it. When I tried Iskender kebap in Ottoman, I could close my eyes and imagine myself being in a good restaurant in Turkey. Içli köfte and Adana kebap were also awesome. Baklava was almost the same, but still has some room for improvement. Dondurma coming with Baklava was not the one deserves to be a side of Turkish baklava. The staff

We came to the restaurant with my family, and the first thing we noticed was the nice atmosphere and welcoming waiters. The food came quickly and was very delicious; all of the food was authentic and well-made.
The Bayti Kabob & lentil soup were so delicious, but Baklava & Dondurma are fantastic!
I recommend going here for a family dinner or a dine/in.

My friend had mentioned she heard this place had good brunch. I finally checked it out since a friend was visiting and thought this was unique spot. We are outside and there isn't a lot of shade so be sure to bring your sunglasses, sunscreen, and maybe a hat.
We did bottomless brunch and I highly recommend! The food is delicious and the waitstaff are very attentive to make sure you've got everything you need. We split everything as a table and I got my drink of choice during brunch - a mimosa.
Honestly, if we could have eaten it all I would've ordered one of everything! Everything

I am something of a brussel sprout connoisseur; if I see brussel sprouts on the menu you bet your liras I'm going to order them. I also cook them regularly at my home.
And let me tell you - the chef at this restaurant does NOT have a clue how to cook brussel sprouts.
Brussel sprouts should be fully cooked all the way through. Generally it takes 30-40 minutes cooked in an oven on high at 375-400 deg. for brussel sprouts to soften on the inside and char on the outside (I can't believe I have to say this but someone has to). Good brussel sprouts could be eaten without teeth: they should

Love it! Love the customer service and most of the food items. Love the fact that it's halal and their brunch has so many halal meat options which we can enjoy. The service is wonderful, courteous, prompt and just excellent. One star less because it's a bit pricey for what it is. We got the weekend brunch and it was great!

Very good quality turkish food- in an era where Turkish food is considered as 'kebab' , I am happy to find a restaurant that has actual turkish food and good quality too! The prices are quite high but it's acceptable considering the competition in the neighborhood so definitely worth a try for Turkish food newbeeies. Sunday brunch (bottomless) is also a good bargain since you get to order different things to sample from a very wide menu. Service is also impeccable which should be a must on a Turkish restaurant (trust me- I'm from Turkey and hospitality is crucial to us)!

I’ve been to Ottoman Taverna a couple times and have had the chance to taste several items off their menu, and I am yet to be disappointed! Their mezze are great, I especially love the labneh. The kibbeh and cig kofte are great for apps, and you can’t really go wrong with any of the kebabs or moussaka for mains. Definitely recommend a visit!

Love this space and the food! I went for a large family brunch and enjoyed everything - the hummuses, the bread, you name it! My favorite was definitely the sweet potato cakes (I don't know the name), but they were savory and not too big. Mimosas were also delicious as well as the chocolate ice cream and other desserts! Would definitely come back and eat more falafel.

The food had a very delicious taste in my opinion. I decided to order their so called „Trip to Turkey“ menu, where you can choose four dishes out of a special menu, consisting of first and second, main course and dessert. The price was reasonable with almost $35. To drink I had an Ayran, which is one of the most typical drinks of Turkey. I enjoyed the food and definitely would return to this authentic turkish tasting restaurant in Washington, D.C.. Staff was very friendly and attentive during my visit.

I had the pleasure of a date being planned at Ottoman Taverna and I was beyond excited given that it was Michelin Starred and that it was Turkish Cuisine which I couldn't recall the last time I had.
I'd never had Raki so I decided to go with a cocktail that had Raki as the star and the presentation was just beautiful! The cocktail itself was very flavor forward (which wasn't a bad thing) and was also quite pleasant at the same time.
We decided to go with the hummus for an appetizer and it was absolutely silky, pretty divine and paired well with the freshly fried pita chips. They

Went here for dinner and had a great experience. Food was quality and tasted authentic. The 4 course menu is the way to go, great value for your money and you get to try a variety of dishes. Highly recommend the Adana kebab but you can't go wrong with anything else. Our server was very friendly and offered us complimentary Turkish tea.

Rushed service and food that was underwhelming. I came here because it was listed in the Michelin guide and the rave reviews here. When I left I couldn't figure out if I stepped into another restaurant.
The menu has "Awarded Michelin 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021" hmm, not accurate as only stars are awarded. You were mentioned, big difference. We chose the Flight of Turkey for 34.95 which is two appetizers, entree and desert. It seemed like a great price. We asked for suggestions and I was told the hummus and sigari (feta, onions and parsley wrapped in fried dough) was the way

I went here on Saturday for brunch with friend for her birthday! 1. The restaurant was gorgeous and cozy. I loved all the decorations and the seating with cushions. 2. The food was delicious! There were options enough options for people with dairy restrictions so that was nice. 3. The waiters were very nice and accommodating. I definitely recommend this place if you are interested in trying Turkish food!

Went for Summer Resturant Week and was very impressed with the food and service. For my first course I got the red lentil soup. It was great and packed a kick. For my second course I got the adana kebap. For me the ezme and the cabbage slaw really added to the taste of the dish. Finally, for my third course I got the baklava.
The table got diren okuz red wine. It was dry and crisp and went well with our dinner.
Looking forward to coming back soon!

My wife and I spent Independence Day downtown enjoying a ballgame, the Bible Museum and later fireworks. We had no plans for dinner though but fortunately we found this gem that had tables available.
We were warmly greeted and promptly seated in their modern looking nicely decorated dining room. My wife ordered a Turkish red cab and I went for an Efes Pilsner served in a chilled glass. The beer was refreshing on this sunny summer day.
We both selected from their four course menu aptly titled Trip to Turkey. To start, my Wife went with hummus while I selected Ezme, a sun dried tomato paste,

This might become one of my favorite restaurants in D.C.! Regardless of your food preferences, there is something for everybody at Ottoman Taverna.
When restaurant week rolled around, I couldn't pass up on the chance to try a four-course meal here. While I opted for take-out, I have to say the service was seamless--from scheduling my order online to picking up the food. I loved how everything was packaged so nicely! My food--haydari, patatas kofte, salmon, and katmer (my favorite)--was all delicious and the portions were generous. Eat in, take out, you will enjoy!
