Services
It's our pleasure to bring a complete spectrum of quality routine care plus specialized treatment options to Mobile, Alabama, and the surrounding communities. We operate three locations to provide pet families like yours with expanded access to veterinary services.

Dr. Beth D. Griffin-Overton and her team of experienced, compassionate veterinarians, technicians, and support staff share a profound dedication to the health, safety, and comfort of all the cats and dogs in Mobile-the ones in our care and the ones still waiting for their forever homes.
Keeping your pets healthy, happy, and safe throughout their lives begins with regular wellness and preventive care visits. We strongly encourage annual wellness examinations coupled with 6-month checkups. Animals age faster than we do, and they can't tell us when something is bothering them.

With more frequent visits, we have a better chance of catching a disease or an illness early on when treatments can be more effective and before your pet experiences too much discomfort. We administer core vaccines and screen for parasites during your pet's yearly examination and provide boosters, lifestyle vaccines, parasite testing, and a tick panel (for dogs) at the 6-month checkup.
By the time our dogs and cats are about 7 years old, they've reached middle age in human terms and have become more susceptible to age-related illnesses. At Overton Veterinary Hospital, we offer senior wellness exams, treatments for common health conditions, and pain management to keep your older pets comfortable and active.
Overton Veterinary Hospital offers laser therapy to promote healing, provide pain relief, and reduce inflammation for pets recovering from surgery or suffering from chronic or acute physical conditions. Laser therapy is completely noninvasive, drug-free, fast, and soothing for your pet. No special preparation such as shaving or sedation is needed.
We're pleased to offer the pets in our care the benefits of veterinary endoscopy, which is a valuable, minimally invasive procedure that greatly expands our diagnostic and treatment capabilities. During an endoscopy procedure, we insert a tube with a built-in video camera into your pet's body to investigate a problem.

Dr Beth and her team are fabulous. I have miniature poodles and have used her thru the years for various servises. I had a puppy I brought home that was injured and could not walk. Dr Beth preformed surgery and now she runs everywhere all the time. She chases squirrels and actually caught one.
If you are looking for a vet that is professional knowledgeable, compassionate and caring this is the place for you

I took my cat there to have it boarded, and there were additional charges, for treatments needed to be done, in order for my cat to stay there. I understand, that the veterinarian was likely following protocol, however, the front desk staff was extremely rude, when I inquired about additional charges. I was continually interrupted on the phone, when simply trying to ask questions. My wife got on the phone with them, and ended up having the same problem. They were extremely rude to her, and also cut her off in the middle of sentences. If you change to use this veterinarian clinic, I would make sure

My cat needs kidney diet food and it requires a prescription. I've spent thousands of dollars at this place for my cat since 2006 and since I decided to get kidney diet food for my cat conveniently delivered to my doorstep (a service they didn't offer at the time) via chewy.com for a cheaper price than they offered, they charged a fee for the prescription! Their reasoning being because I'm not buying the food from them. To make matters worse, after a few months they denied chewy.com's request for a refill since they hadn't seen my cat in a while. My cat is 15 years old

My cat has chronic kidney disease and has been getting subcutaneous fluids for the past several years. Prior to my move to Mobile, Al, his vet monitored his renal function and electrolytes, as well as, adjusted his fluids and medications as needed. When I moved to Mobile, I took him to Irby Overton Vet Clinic expecting the same type of competent medical management, however was very disappointed. Unfortunately, I am more knowledgeable about my pet's chronic medical condition and medications then the "doctors" there.
To make matters worse, the vet seemed more interested in my wallet

My husband and I take in alot of strays we get them spayed or neutered doctor them back to help if necessary and then find homes for them. So I took a kitten in to be spay with a $20 voucher from the SPCA because it's very expensive. When I called to make the appointment and told the lady on the phone that I had the $20 voucher she gave me an appointment and never told me about all the extra charges that I would incur. So when I got there with the cat they begin to tell me about all of these charges that were mandatory along with the $20 spay, even though all of our animals are on monthly
