Came here for New Year's Eve and wasn't told that we didn't have a choice to but to order their nye menu. They said that everyone was called beforehand, however, we did not get a call and it seemed like a lot of people didn't either. Anyway, it was late and we didn't want to look for another place to eat... plus It was New Year's Eve, so why not splurge ($150 a person) ... regretfully, It was nothing special. The waiter also didn't know what he was serving us when we would ask what the dishes were. We walked out spending way too much for some very basic food.

Sadly, this was the worst food I've ever tasted in the past 7 years of living in San Francisco. We weren't planning on being in town for New Years so we didn't make plans before hand and this was our only option. We thought it was going to be decent since they did a 5 course menu for New Years at 150 a person. Wrong. it was disgusting. The champagne they gave us was gross, food was very bland, but what was concerning was their salmon. It smelt sooo bad and tasted super super fishy.. which is pretty concerning for a salmon dish. A side of lemons didn't even help the taste of

We had dinner here with the kiddos. They have great service and very clean high chairs with seat belts that work. The ambiance is nice and relaxing. My kids loved the signs with water bubbles inside!
We really enjoyed the appetizer and salad, but we're disappointed with the main courses. My kids devoured the meatballs and their French fries, but barely touched their cheese burger (too rare for kids). They didn't have hot dog.
The squash salad, egg plant, and rock were amazing! The short rib and steak were either too sweet or too salty, but overall ok.
Gelato was really flavorful especially

Came back for the second night in a row to enjoy the ambiance, food, and service. Love that the restaurant is quiet and relaxing. The sushi is fantastic here. Chefs Powa and Koyo do wonderful work and everything was so beautifully presented. They use a touch of shiso in the Garden Roll which really adds an interesting subtle flavor. Our server Stina took such great care of us. We felt like VIPs!

Food is great, and services is even greater. We are heading to a show in hotel Nikki, only left 30 minutes for dinner; the front desk informed my waitress, she is quick and thoughtful, dinner plates were out on the table in less than 10 minutes, and miso cod still reached a crispy and taste state; amazing how they do it.

We spent first night at the bar and second night dining and the bar after. The food was great with the exception of the Anzu roll which was just a average tasting sushi roll. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly and melted in your mouth. It was David's first weekend bartending for Anzu. He was awesome but seemed to be thrown in there without being properly trained on their system. Also what kind of establishment has the only bartender leave the bar to take orders and serve drinks at the tables? Kudos to David for a job well done!

My family visited this restaurant over the course of multiple days we stayed at that hotel. Each day, the servers were kind and quite helpful to us. In specific, one staff member named Brian. He recommended places to visit in San Francisco and was always very friendly and accommodating.
The food was good. I wouldn't say it was extremely special, but I loved the NY cheesecake, the avocado toast, and the Titus roll.
I'm vegetarian , and the employees were happy to help, and offered vegetarian friendly foods for me.
I enjoyed my memories and my time in this restaurant, and if you&apos

Our Saturday night date at ANZU was a really bad experience. The food came in extremely fast and seemed like it wasn't cooked to order at all.
We had three appetizers:
Brussel sprouts - came out great.
Roasted "forest" mushrooms - lukewarm, undercooked, underseasoned, and greasy.
Spring rolls - fishy aftertaste. We suspect they were bought at Costco.
Two mains:
Cod - was great and seemed cooked to order.
Garlic noodles with prawn - this was the worst Lo Mein I have tried. Again seemed to be sourced from Costco or at least cooked way in advance. Very very greasy. The prawn was undercooked

This was the dinner half of my first "dinner and a show" outing post-pandemic. I was going out to see a live music event at Feinstein's (Broadway couple Kelli Barrett and Jarrod Spector) at the Hotel Nikko and remembered that Anzu was just upstairs. The combination of dinner at Anzu and a performance at Feinstein's is an elegant and classic night out in San Francisco.
For dinner, I ordered their pre-fixe (an appetizer, entree and dessert) PLUS "The Rock" - thinly sliced Wagyu that you cook on a sizzling river stone. For the pre-fixe, I ordered the 1/2 Anzu roll

Class and elegance are just two words to describe the food and service at Restaurant Anzu, which serves elevated Japanese fusion and sushi cuisine with a new Californian flair. Located in the posh Hotel Nikko San Francisco in downtown San Francisco near the city's stylish Union Square shopping district. Nowadays, the area is suffering from the same fate that has befallen much of the city with empty streets and boarded up storefronts. The hotel is not alone in this plight despite the fact that they are open and taking in hotel guests, you would never know this fact since their front doors remain

I came here with a couple friends for dinner a while ago and had an amazing time. We showed up pretty late and were the last table top be seated for the night but were still treated extremely warmly and welcoming. We all had the same tasting menu and were all equally thrilled with the food. The cod with agadashi was the highlight of the meal.

I came here for my birthday dinner and this was by far one of my top dining experiences, ever! Not only is the food top notch, but so was the service. I'm so sorry that I forgot our servers name, but he literally treated us like we were celebrities. To add to that, the upscale and intimate decor also makes this place feel quite special. This is definitely a place that would be great for a date or a special occasion.

The Hotel Nikko makes a night out in Union Square effortlessly simple -- dinner upstairs at hotel-chic, Asian-fusion restaurant Anzu followed by a performance downstairs at Feinstein's (review to follow.)
I ordered the Roasted Sonoma Chicken Breast ($26), a dish that helped me understand why friends, family, & fellow yelpers consider chicken the most boring of proteins. The flavorful jus & root veggies only slightly improved my meal which was otherwise quite drab.
My friend's pick, The Rock ($22), brought some excitement to the table. A sizzling river rock browns thin slices

3.5 stars. Fun dining experience at ANZU! Located inside Hotel Nikko, I met up with Nina Y. for our first dinner date in awhile. Just like our spontaneous adventure to an expensive steakhouse, we decided to try the omakase here. It was fueled by some delicious cocktails and enjoyment from looking at the gorgeous decor all around.
We didn't know how many courses there would be, and we were stuffed by the end. The food itself was pretty good. Upscale and colorful. We started with an appetizer, followed by a special roll, nigiri, sashimi, and grilled fish. The nigiri and sashimi were my favorite

Could've been better....
Restaurant Anzu is located inside hotel Nikko and I believe that this place attracts a lot of foreigners (people visiting SF) because there's just so much guests here coming in with suitcases and bags. I ate here with a friend around 6 PM on a weekend night- the place was not packed but moderate. I was seated and I ordered the follow: pork belly chawanmushi - super dry egg.... texture was just horrible and no taste to the egg and the pork belly was a bit too rough; 72 hrs short ribs - this was a little better but it's nothing spectacular about it at all
