Dr. James W. Triant is known for his compassionate approach to dental care. The core of his practice is in Boston's Metrowest communities of Watertown, Newton, and Waltham, but patients travel from throughout Massachusetts and New England to receive his gentle, professional treatment. His philosophy is always conservative, with an emphasis on minimizing tooth loss and preserving one's natural teeth for as long as possible.
Dr. Triant is aware that he is treating people first, and ensures their comfort by allowing ample time to review treatment options. He offers Tuesday and Thursday evening hours for those who find daytime appointments difficult, and is on call day or night for dental emergencies. He is always available to address any patient concerns.

My work is my life. Dentistry is so much fun, and restoring teeth to form and function without pain is truly gratifying. Through the many people who have been with us for so many years and who are from a variety of backgrounds, my practice has become my second family. While delivering the best care I possibly can to my patients, I, in turn, learn about so many other aspects of life from them.
Your first visit to our office typically includes an X-ray that allows us to view the structure of your jaw, the position of any teeth that have not yet erupted, malformed roots, and tooth decay. The initial visit involves a review of your medical history. When you share your medical history, be sure to provide complete, up-to-date information on your health.
The cost of your treatment may vary, depending on your individual needs and treatment plan. During your visit, we'll discuss the cost of your treatment and each of your available payment plan options with you, so you are able to make the best choice for you, your smile, and your family. Our office staff is always available to help you with insurance claims and paperwork.
I wanted to let you know that the 'temporary fix' you did on my broken tooth lasted 2 weeks. I have just returned from a visit to my dentist in Cincinnati, who said, 'That Boston dentist did a great job.' I want to thank you for your kindness to me. You stayed late; you were caring and gentle; you wouldn't accept payment.
