Northarlington Animal Clinic
The Northarlington Animal Clinic has been serving the northwest Columbus community since 1972. We are a full service animal hospital for dogs, cats, pigs, reptiles, and small mammals.

The Northarlington Animal Clinic is committed to providing excellence in veterinary care with an emphasis on preventative medicine and client education; to offering our clients and patients an atmosphere of compassion, kindness and integrity; and to promoting the welfare of all animals through community service; and by encouraging the human animal bond.Northarlington Animal Clinic is located at 5011 Dierker Rd.
Services
Northarlington Animal Clinic is located at 5011 Dierker Rd. Columbus, OH 43220. We are located just north of Henderson Road, approximately 2 miles east of Riverside Drive and 3 miles west of State Route 315. We encourage pet owners to familiarize themselves with the route from their home to the nearest emergency clinic; in an emergency situation it is very difficult to handle a sick or injured animal and navigate unfamiliar streets!
Preventative medicine: At the Northarlington Animal Clinic, we believe that it is almost always easier (and more affordable!) to prevent disease rather than treat it! Physical examinations, vaccinations, heartworm testing and regular lab work are just a few of the ways that we try to identify and prevent illnesses.
The Northarlington Animal is pleased to offer boarding for our veterinary patients only. In addition to cats and dogs (under 40 pounds), we are happy to offer boarding services for birds, hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits, rats, mice and gerbils. Please note that we require dogs to receive the bordetella (kennel cough) vaccine every 6 months.
All pets must be current on their vaccinations. For dogs this includes Canine Influenza, DA2P, bordatella and rabies. Please note that we do require bordetella every 6 months for dogs. Cats must be current on their PRC and rabies vaccine If you cannot provide proof of vaccination we will contact your vet for confirmation.
A Class IV therapy laser is an FDA-cleared, deep penetrating light. Unlike a carbon laser, which is used for cutting, a Class IV laser is designed to relieve conditions that involve pain and inflammation. The Class IV laser offers accelerated healing and relief of pain through several processes: the production of oxygen allows cells to re-grow, and the release of endorphins stimulates cells to heal at a faster rate and reduces pain.

I am a new puppy owner, and I have done tons of research on the best care for him. I confidently chose Northarlington Vet to have his 8 week appointment when we first got him, and was charged much more than what I was quoted for. There were hidden costs that were not disclosed to me. I couldn't fill prescriptions online, and when I called to express concern was dismissed. Shots and help from vet techs felt very rushed. I have changed vets and feel much more supported about my puppy's health.

The people I've encountered thus far have all been friendly and helpful. The vet has listened to any concerns I've had and has been knowledgeable in how to proceed. My pets prescriptions are all reasonably priced. So far every visit has cost me less than I nervously anticipated. No complaints.

Traumatized our puppy. When my wife left, our puppy was shivering in fear from the rushed shots she was given. Vets are supposed to be comforting to animals, not just stick them with needles when they’re obvious not calm/ready. We’ve been to other vets that are in another league compared to this place. Don’t bring your pets here. Absolute garbage.

My cat was in need of surgery. Had never been there before. They were great. Even though they had to keep her for a few days to ensure her healing process they never forgot me. I would get daily updates on how she was healing as well as her meds eating etc. The first couple of days I got numerous calls. Very thankful for that. Your animal is like one of your kids and they realize that. Everyone I spoke to was very nice. And the Dr called himself afterwards to fill me in on her surgery. Thank you so much for taking such good care of my girl.

I am so happy we found Northarlington Animal Clinic. We started out taking our puppy to another practice in town that was many times over more expensive. I assumed that paying more would equate to better customer service but when my puppy needed an appointment the most, they didnt have time to get us in. We left and have never looked back. The people at NAC are so thoughtful and really spend time getting to know you and your pet. I have never had an issue getting an appointment and know my puppy is getting great care.

This business is absolutely awful. The veterinarian team, a married couple is concerned only with financial gain. They do not give discharge instructions, they upsell, and the worst factor is that they attempt to increase patient load while retaining clientele as they purposefully did not test my pug for diabetes after I requested them to on multiple occasions resulting in fatal complications. The only thing Dr. Teders was concerned about was the cost of treating secondary complications due to untreated diabetes.

Please opt for any other business..... I have known many animals who have been

I wish I were able give Northarlington Animal Clinic 100 stars! What an absolute AMAZING practice! We were visiting Columbus from out of town and my Malti-Tzu, Bubbie, developed an infected hot spot on his tail overnight and he had to be seen right away. Not being familiar with any vets in the area, I was not sure who would be available to treat my little guy the same day without an appointment and without already being an established patient. From the minute Elyse at the front desk answered my call, I knew I was in the right hands. She told us to come in right away and ensured that we would be

$213 to groom a cat?! Took my 14 yr old cat in for grooming.

1) Their website is out of date, which caused problems getting medical records transferred from previous vet.

2) Pricing on the website is out of date, and the cost of grooming and REQUIRED sedation was much higher than we anticipated.

3) The groomer didn't even know that cats have whiskers on their legs to detect motion of their prey. She laughed when I told her this.

I give two stars only because Dr. Marya kept close enough watch on my sedated geriatric cat to recognize that she was crashing from the sedative and needed atropine

My elderly parents had their cats vetted here for years. When they passed away I needed to find homes for them. I needed records. They said that they had them and would be happy to provide them. Then said since cats hadn't been seen in 2 years they didn't have. After much run around gave me 2 records. Then later said they did have them. Drove 25 miles again to get records (not all) they only had name, breed age. No test results.
Rescue groups wanted these to prove cats health. Several rescue groups refused to take without. They couldn't understand that the vet said they had that

My dog and I love Northarlington Animal Clinic! Every single one of the staff members is amazing and friendly. They've always been able to get me in ASAP when we have an urgent (but non emergency) situation with my dog such as when she presented with kennel cough right after she was adopted, got an ear infection that escalated quickly, and when she ripped one of her nails off running around on our carpet. They also talked us through our panicked phone calls after she gobbled down an entire bag of cough drops. Huge thanks Dr. Teders, Josh, and the rest of the crew!!

I also love having her

We couldn't be happier with the end of life care we received for our precious pet. Dr. Teders did an excellent job explaining our options in an unbiased way. Ultimately, it was our decision to make. We decided to have blood work done, and that helped to make the choice easier.

When it came time to put our friend to sleep, Dr. T explained the process thoroughly, and Charlie went peacefully and gently. We felt, in no way, rushed and had all the time we needed to say goodbye. What could have been a traumatic experience actually brought a great sense of relief thanks to the great care

This kind, incredible practice took me same day when my current vet -- who had been treating my cat extensively for years -- was "too busy" to even look at him when he took a sudden turn for the worst. My cat did not make it through the day, but was at least able to be made comfortable in a kind, loving environment in his final hours. I am so grateful to everyone at this practice -- every single person we encountered was helpful and empathetic. I can't recommend this group enough!

Just started bringing our two dogs here a little over a month ago. Everyone was informed, helpful, and engaging. Dr Teders was great. She was personable and you could tell there was a real care for our two dogs which made my wife and I feel even more comfortable. The option for after hours emergency care is a big plus too. NAAC is a our new home!

Dr. Teders is the best. I drive out of my way to see her because she's so great. I always feel like she really takes the time to listen and understand, I never feel like I'm pressured into buying expensive things, and she's great with my animals!

I have to knock down two stars though because she really needs to get some more comfortable seating in her waiting room. These wood planks just don't cut it when I'm stuck waiting at least an hour to be seen every time I come in.

I can't say enough great things about this establishment and Dr. Teders. I had to take my mom's dog in for emergency ACL replacement surgery while visiting from out of town and have never felt more comfortable or at peace at a vet hospital. Dr. Teders took the time to answer all of our questions and make sure we were aware of all of our options (AND was so great with our nervous dog! She really took the time to calm her down and make her comfortable). The surgery was complicated (several hours long) which, of course, was very nerve racking for us. I received a call from Dr. Teders herself

Lindsey is a newer groomer here. I took both my dogs to be groomed. When I arrived, the young lady at the front desk went to get Lindsey, she came out and asked how I preferred they be groomed. This was the first time I had ever been consulted face to face. Lindsey did a great job, they have always done a great job grooming my dog, however, both were groomed as short as I wanted. When I went to pick them up, Lindsey actually brought them out! It will be nice to get to know the person that grooms my dog! Well done N Arlington!

Great people, great service and (for us) great location. I rescued a Maltese-Shihtzu mix from a sketchy person on Craigslist. She was in poor health when we picked her up and our first stop was Northarlington to get her checked over.

Dr. Teders put our very skittish (previously unloved) dog at ease. Our little gal ended up getting spayed, updating her vaccinations, having two teeth removed by Dr. Teders as well as getting groomed at the clinic later that week.

We've had our dog for nearly a year and she is now happy and healthy with her new family. We're glad to have great health

I am a customer for life! Thank you to the doctors and staff for the kindness, support and help you are giving to our kitten, Ninja and our family. Our kitten is pretty ill and we still don't know if he'll make it but the care and compassion that Dr. Teders shows is helping us through this unexpected ordeal. They have let us come and visit Ninja daily and call me twice a day to give us updates. Thank you again for your kindness!

P.s. Northarlington Animal Clinic offers emergency care after hours now!

I was told to come to this location when my regular vet was injured and unable to see my sick cat. I figured if it was recommended, I should try it as I needed to get my cat to the vet ASAP.

This place is amazing. They were able to get me in no problems, I'm pretty sure the day I called they were able to fit me in. I took my cat there and she was really sick and they were unable to do the tests needed right then, so they kept her overnight - no charge. Dr. Teders was also incredibly patient and understanding when I told her that I had consulted my sister, who is also a Vet but does not live

Pros
- nice, courteous staff
- reliable, professional yet caring vets
- very short waiting time
- quiet and serene place (big pro if you have a cat)
- separate entries for cats and dogs
- vets take a lot of their time to answer all of your questions and offer suggestions
- while at OSU vet clinic, after the student failed to correctly calculate my cat's heart rate (not to mention that the certified vet didn't bother to double check) then both dragooning me into putting my cat through unnecessary procedures using very awkward hints, the vet at NA carefully calculated twice for my sake
