My spouse is having an affair -- I'm devastated, but I want to work on our marriage. My spouse is in recovery -- so why do I feel so angry and confused? My son or daughter is using drugs again -- what can we do? Between being busy with work and kids, we've lost that feeling of closeness and connection -- can we get it back?
These are questions and statements I often hear when clients call me for the first time. My response to these concerns is, that by learning new skills and getting support, you can deal with problems in a healthier way. Couples can grow and change through crisis. And, sometimes when even just one person in the family begins to make changes, others around them may change as well.

Services
I received my master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from California State University, Fresno in 1993, and have been a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 1996. I am certified as a Substance Abuse Specialist by the State of Wisconsin to provide counseling and therapy for those affected by addiction, and am a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.
I am a skilled psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience. I work with a wide variety of populations and issues, with an emphasis in couples work, and addiction and the family. I have been a family therapist and clinical supervisor at a CARF- accredited addiction treatment facility, and have received special training in helping couples in recovery.
I regularly receive calls requesting weekend appointments to accommodate couples' busy work schedules. For this reason, I offer Extended and Marathon Sessions for Couples. You will be asked to complete an online assessment prior to the session, so I can be familiar with the issues you are presenting.
After we have an initial conversation, we can set up an appointment for evaluation and assessment. To set up your telehealth session, I will send you a welcome email after our initial phone conversation. If you have trouble logging in, please call me at 262-221-3971. I am in network with several insurance plans.
Not at all. People who ask for help know when they need it and have the ability to reach out. Everyone needs help now and then. You already have some strengths that you've used before, that for whatever reason isn't working right now. Perhaps this problem feels overwhelming and is making it difficult to access your past strengths.
