While we thoroughly believe that working with a counselor to process the things we struggle with, work through our issues, develop coping skills, and improve our relationships is vital and will yield positive results, we know that sometimes more support is needed. Sometimes, despite our best efforts, the work we do to improve our mental health is not enough.
Being anxious is exhausting. Anxiety is pervasive, it has the ability to work its way into every part of our lives. When we struggle with anxiety, it makes everything more difficult. It intensifies our struggles and it can dampen all of our joys. Anxiety underlies many of the issues that people struggle with.
Worrying people might abandon you leading you either avoid relationships, leave relationships first, or make frantic attempts to keep people in your life. Not having have a solid sense of yourself which leaves you feeling empty and lonely, even if, from the outside, life looks like it should be ok.
I believe that when we can learn to expose ourselves whole-heartedly with someone we trust, true connection is established. I know when one needs help, it is often times difficult to become completely vulnerable enough to disclose what troubles us to another. My passion is to provide a safe, altruistic environment where one can reveal their true struggles while also obtaining face-to-face understanding.
Thrive Counseling offers what we call a semi-private practice. In short, this means that we provide all the resources and support systems that are required to function in a private practice while allowing counselors to maintain a great deal of autonomy and control over their own schedules. This is a great opportunity for someone who has been doing agency work or recently achieved licensure to start the transition into private practice.
