Services
El Charro was founded in 1978 by Richard and Patricia (Pat) Rodriguez. Then, we moved to 2500 Central, seating 135 people. Our current location is at 1209 W. Wyatt Earp, which we opened in May of 1985 and seats 235 people. Our menu was small, offering about a quarter of the items we currently serve.
Our salsa is made from a family recipe that patrons of our Dodge City, KS restaurant have been able to enjoy for almost 30 years. It is served as the perfect complement to our tortilla chips, along with each meal. Each jar of salsa is homemade with fresh, natural ingredients. You can taste the difference!

Wow. Great food, cool retro interior, clean inside and friendly staff! I had the surprise cheese enchilada which has lettuce, tomato and onion on top. Husband had bean and cheese burrito. Both were plenty for a meal. The chips were fresh, we shared three baskets. I did not care for either salsa but that’s just me. $16! We’re from Texas and love our Mexican & Tex Mex food. This KS institution did not disappoint. All the cars had Kansas license plates, always a good sign when the locals frequent!
