Jeff and Susan Abelt met at veterinary school over 30 years ago and their lives have been filled with love and care of animals since. Their four grown children also share their love for animals. They live on a small farm with their dogs, cats, horses, and chickens. They also enjoy training and showing their dogs, Collies and Italian Greyhounds.
Growing up, Dr. Jeff Abelt always knew he wanted to work closely with animals, his dream was realized in 1986 when he graduated from veterinary school. He specializes in orthopedic work. He's worked closely with horses in equine facilities and spent a lot of time in clinics, on farms, and at dog and horse shows.

Bellevue Animal Hospital has been amazing! They have helped us so much through getting 2 new kittens that came to us sick. Dr. Peeler and Kim have been especially helpful in many ways. They call to check in, have given us great information and resources through a very unexpected time, and are truly compassionate and caring individuals. We cannot thank the whole team there enough!

I'm not sure how to begin to express my gratitude to this clinic. My dog had a tumor on her leg and my original vet was booked out by four weeks. I didn't want to wait that long to get the tumor removed, so I called every vet clinic in the area. Everyone was booked out by several weeks. I called Bellevue Animal hospital, not thinking I would get a surgery sooner than a month, but, to my surprise, they were able to schedule my dog for a pre-op exam the next day and surgery the following week! I was so relieved and grateful that they could care for her. The vet did an excellent job and removed the

If I could give over 5 stars I would! Even with all the craziness with Covid and not being able to go in Dr. Peeler took the time to answer all of my questions. My cat has a lot of behavioral issues so I worried about finding a vet that would be understanding of that. Dr. Peeler and the rest of the staff were so great! If you are looking for a vet I high recommend you check out the Bellevue Animal Hospital!

They have been so great with my new puppy delivering his vaccines and making sure we have all the information we need. From what I can gather, they are also much cheaper than a lot of other vets in the area and do a tremendous job! They are very friendly and happy to answer all questions, including when we wanted to get him double checked for some soreness. They have been very generous, and I would highly encourage you to take your pet here!

Kind and caring staff. My dog had ACL surgery and even thru this COVID virus they gave our dog extremely good care. Answered all our questions and even discounted our bill a lot and told us times were hard and they did what they could to help us...how often does that happen? While Jax is still healing with a ways to go I feel I can count on them for all his needs! Thank you so much to all of you there!!

After going to a different vet for a couple of years after moving to Nashville, we decided to switch to Bellevue Animal Hospital, and we are SO glad that we did. Friendly, convenient, open on weekends, very responsive to all inquiries, and treat our pup like he's one of their own. Couldn't recommend enough.

My husband went there today, he had a 10am appointment. He waited in the exam room for an hour with Joey our dog. He is skittish and had to use the bathroom, so after an hour my husband felt Joey should not have to wait longer. When he was leaving the receptionist asked if he wanted to make an appointment for another day. They were unkind, I'm surprised they are still in business....beware of this place!

My cat was itchy and licky. They gave me a same-day appointment at a convenient time. The office staff was kind and considerate and the dr. was patient and explained everything clearly. I was shocked to learn Stanley had fleas since he doesn't go outside but from what they said, it's not unusual in TN. They gave him meds and flea treatment and he's so much better already! Prices were reasonable too.

The staff are all really friendly and kind. Tonya at the front desk was very flexible and understanding and knowledgeable. And the vet and vet tech that I saw were just great! They knew their stuff and they were gentle with the puppies and they also were personal with me. Parking was easy. The facility seems clean and doesn't smell. They also have a sweet, cuddly cat that lives at the center and greets all the patients there. so cute! And I really appreciate that they help a bunch of dog rescues. True animal lovers!

This place has incredible prices, no doubt about that. However, my dog's neutering did not go well. They do not give pain killers before the operation, (something they DO NOT disclose). Additionally, when I picked my dog up the next day, his "package" was so, incredibly swollen. I had never seen anything like it. And in my lifetime, my family has had seven dogs neutered. Apparently, after his surgery he got very sick and after he swelled up, he popped his stitches and he had to have staples put it.
