Services
Veterinary care that is exceptional, progressive, and always available at Mayfair Animal Hospital & Emergency. Whether you are visiting for an emergency, or for primary care, our staff and veterinarians realize that you are one of the most important aspects to the health of your pet.

Our priority is to reduce not only the stress of your dog or cat upon entering our doors, but to also include you in every step we take with diagnostic tests, treatment options, and prognoses.Your pets are your family members and we treat them as such. We are a unique animal hospital. We are open 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, 365 days/year for emergencies that may occur throughout days, evenings, weekends, or holidays.
You work hard to ensure that your furry family member has the best possible life. That's why partnering with a veterinary provider who genuinely cares for you both is so important. At Mayfair Animal Hospital, we are proud to offer a comprehensive range of services to address your pet's specific veterinary needs.
One of the most common injuries to the knee of dogs is tearing of the cranial cruciate ligament (CCL). As a result, the shin bone (tibia) slides forward with respect to the thigh bone (femur) causing pain and lameness. The resulting instability affects the cartilage and leads to osteoarthritis (OA).
Serious health problems, injuries, and illness require immediate care. When your pet urgently needs to see a veterinarian, Mayfair Animal Hospital offers quality emergency care 24 hours a day. While we understand you may not always be in a position to call in advance, if you are able to do so it will help our staff be prepared for your pet's arrival so the animal gets needed medical care that much quicker.
Your pet's health is always our number one priority, which is why for most pets we recommend annual wellness exams to ensure that your animal companion remains in good health. If your pet is a senior-over seven for dogs, over nine for cats-we strongly suggest twice-yearly exams and blood screenings.

Only thing they will respond but they’re very very poor quality I would never recommend this animal hospital to nobody that’s the reason that many animal hospitals are closing down and people will not be working for them. I had a week old puppy who got hurt bleeding from the neck got bit and they would not even help me stop the bleeding let me take my dog home to dye
Thankfully she survived if I had no animal experience she would have died and thankfully I knew what to do I did it on my own without their help This animal hospital once again I would never Even recommend it for the dead there

My boy Jojo (4 year old cat) ate electrical tape over a weekend about a month ago and we never noticed. It was a weekend and ended up taking him to the ER, he did have a full blockage. We found out that Monday that he needed surgery that day but with covid every single place was booked. Finally after hours of calling places I got in touch with Mayfair through a recommendation from another vet. They were the only place willing to do his surgery on short notice. Not only did they save my boys life but the surgery cost ended up being less than their original low estimate. Not only have they earned

It feels weird to give 5 stars for euthanasia, but here we are. My parents dog -very- suddenly took a turn for the worse.... we called and they were able to help him peacefully go on to his forever sleep right away. They were so kind, I cannot thank you enough for being so wonderful while we said goodbye.

When they and all the other emergency vets near us were busy, they made sure to make the time to help us out. They made sure to keep me updated and informed about everything along the way, and they called later to check in and see how my pet was doing. They care, and it shows.

We had an emergency situation with our dog and had a hard time even finding a place that would treat her. At that point, you worry about the quality of the treatment of course because you’re “desperate”. But every step of care at Mayfair Animal Hospital was top notch. The people receiving and returning our dog were kind and good at handling her. The doctor we had communicated with us throughout the process and gave us good advice and did a great job! Everyone was really kind and though I’m not a big fan of remaining in the park I lot, it was it was about as close to a perfect visit as I

Went in @ 3pm. Of course due to Covid-19 restrictions. I’m order to enter. They ask that you wait in the car. Waited in car for over an hour and was told they’re short staffed and I should try Glendale or Waukesha. Decided I’d wait because I’m literally 10mins away. Well it’s now 7:30pm and I’m still being told they aren’t taking any animals. Because they’re short staffed and have their capacity of animals. What’s the purpose of being 24hrs if your unable to service animals in need. During those 24hrs I’m sincerely disappointed.

Had to take my Lab in on a Sunday morning for a sever allergic reaction. They all took such great care of her and got her feeling back to normal within a few days. You could hear the compassion in their voices and totally tell they all LOVE what they do. It was a great experience! The prices were extremely fair. And I really liked the extra little note the Dr. put on the discharge papers for my dog to get well soon.

So, my last three visits I have asked how to make this process quicker. I have waited 3 hours, 3 hours 2 hours and today 1.5 hours. They were right, with the appointment I made today it was quicker but still ridiculous times!!!
Plus the waiting in your car is just awful. You should be open. You told me three months ago about lobby renovation..,, shouldn’t take this long! Our pets deserve better! We deserve better!
Sadly, even though I didn’t want my senior pup to have to learn something new, I will be looking into a new place for future visits.

I've had to use their emergency services 3 times (digestive issues) and they are awesome! My dog has responded well to their treatment and is a happy go-lucky dog again. I would not hesitate to use them again.

Initially I had to bring my dog in for a check up on a lump, unfortunately it turned out to be cancer... they provided great service, very responsive and willing to work with you. They also are good at answering any questions you may have. When I had to put my dog down I went with them and within such a short notice they fit me in their schedule. It was the most difficult thing I had to do in my life and they were super supportive; giving you plenty of time with your loved one in these times plus their attention to detail and care is superior. They even gave me a set of beautiful paw prints that

I brought my baby girl here about 2 years ago for an emergency visit. They were prompt and very caring not only to her but to me during that difficult time! They were able to diagnose her quickly and give her the necessary treatments. She ended up having to spend the night there and the bill in my opinion was very reasonable (less than I expected actually).

I have since ditched my old vet as they had always dismissed her symptoms as anxiety when in fact it was significant heart failure. The doctors at Mayfair Animal Hospital were able to get this under control and here we are 2 years later she

I lost my beloved cat of many years, Mama Ang over summer and honestly the staff here were so kind I will always use this place in the future.

At the time you couldn't come in the office with the pet, they came out to get your pet and then called you while you were in the car.

My cat had a problem with fluid filling in her chest causing her respiratory distress. I felt like they were very frank with me about the severity of her condition and ability to treat a geriatric cat presenting this symptom and associated underlying causes

In the end I had a procedure done to remove fluid from my

Had to bring my cat (from hell) in urgently for what I assumed was some sort of urinary issue. Being newer to milwaukee area I had no established veterinarian yet. After calling several milwaukee vet clinics only to be turned away, I found Mayfair animal hospital. They take walk in appointments. I arrived sometime around 11am with my cat and was on my way home within 2-ish hours. They communicated with me during each phase of the visit as I waited anxiously in my vehicle outside. Ended up being an intermittent obstruction... I was able to get all of my questions answered by the doctor and left

Honestly I am not happy with Mayfair animal hospital at all. This past Friday we had to take my 12-year-old dog in because he was not doing well at all. They gave us our options and unfortunately we chose to euthanize him because of his condition and the first thing that they asked for on the phone was our money. They didn't even give their apologies or anything they just wanted our money right away and then they said we could come in. Then once we got in there to say our final goodbyes with our dog, a technician brought in the wrong family with us and made things so uncomfortable because

My yorkie was attacked by a large dog or coyote around 4am during a early morning walk. We rushed him to the hospital and they took care of him immediately. I thought my dog may have died but the attention and immediate action ensured that my best friend is the same guy he was before the accident. Thank you, Mayfair Animal Hospital. I can't praise you enough!

If you have a pet that has an emergency or suddenly passes away do not take him or her to this hospital. I had called to let them know my situation and when I showed up it took a half an hour to get anyone to even acknowledge me or show up in the office while I sat there with my pup in my arms. They made my experience the least comforting possible. Very cold atmosphere.

Took our dog here in an semi-emergency situation (upset stomach for days). They, uniquely offer regular and emergency vet care.
They took us in with an hour's notice, and took good care of her. Price was very good, vet and nurse were both friendly and attentive, and based on this visit, I'd highly recommend them. If I'd dock them for anything, it's the waiting area. It feels very utilitarian, like you're waiting in the DMV, and could use a little bit of a more friendly touch.

Wonderful, caring staff. My regular vet at Center for Animal Health recommended I come here with any off hour emergencies and when my senior dog recently became sick. I called and visited Mayfair multiple times in a short period of time over the Thanksgiving holiday. We spent the most time with Dr Kayla and she was incredibly knowledgeable and thorough with diagnosing my sweet girl's illness. All the staff, vet techs, and doctors were very caring and helpful with my dog and me...from diagnosis, through to treatment and eventual euthanasia. While I was a bit of a mess they could not have been

I have seen the other great reviews but unfortunately our experience with cremating our cat was not so awesome. We find our cat passed away and have to drive his dead body to this hospital - not a great start to any day.

We are horrified because this wasn't expected and was a shock. Of course at this point you are like "please take all of my money - I want the best for my poor buddy". $250 later we have a paw print, pick out the urn and get a promise of delivery of his remains within 7 to 10 days.

Scroll forward a couple weeks later - where are his ashes? Calls were made and

After a Sunday dog park attack, I can't thank them enough!!

My pup was attacked at the dog park. I called asking if they could fit us in and with no hesitation they said come on in. The team was great and I can't thank them enough! They gave me options and helped guide us to the right decisions. Home resting comfortably, we are on a path to recovery.

Thanks again!

We had a horrible experience bringing our golden retriever to this location to be put to sleep. They were very insensitive and left her laying dead on the floor. Just a horrible vision a pet parent would not want to see. At that point, I would've given them zero stars.

They redeemed themselves a little bit at our visit last night. We were taken into a room right away. We only had to wait about 10 minutes. Dr Malla Took care of our Bassett. His legs suddenly stopped working and she was able to explain why. Now he is on bed rest taking steroids and pain pills. He should recover. Just a scary

Mayfair Animal Hospital is something I wouldn't have known about without Yelp and so I'm truly, sincerely grateful because when you need an emergency vet, it's not a fun thing.

Our older dog somehow managed to tear a nail off outside - of course it's at 6pm on a Saturday when our regular vet is closed. This location is mere minutes from home, open 24/7, they don't charge "ER" prices and most importantly they take care if your pet like it's their own. We arrived and were shown to an exam room within minutes.

They stopped the bleeding, found that she also
