Went in for some quick sandwiches, coffee, and salad. We had a very nice table with a view of the centre court. The sashimi tuna wrap was so good, lots of flavor. All of the hostesses and staff were so friendly and nice. They also have a bar in the front with karaoke during the weekdays. Our group went to do the cliff walk after this, it was a great outing in Newport!

I really wanted to like this place. I really wanted a new place in the area to go but after going twice, i can't see myself going back. I found out about this place from Newport Buzz, who I suspect is being paid to promote it (and isn't sharing that, which is illegal). Crab meat in crab cake (singular) was clearly frozen and not fresh, which isn't a huge deal but it was so mushed together and the oil was so hot that it didn't cook right so it tasted disgusting. Unfortunately, I will not be going back. The restaurant was cozy though.

I swear some of these people think they are food critics. " Food was good but because blah blah blah I can only give 2 stars." Please! Even though only one waitress because of lack of help, she did fantastic. Food was delicious, well presented and plentiful along with good value. Love the atmosphere here. Because of the service, food and all, I have to give 5 stars. Good job!

I have given this place 3 chances in the last 4 months and the food got progressively worse. The Shepard's Pie I ordered last night was literally a bowl of gravy with chopped hamburger and 4 scoops of mashed potatoes on top. You needed a spoon to eat it. My daughter had fish and chips with barely any fish inside the batter. We are local residents and will never spend another $ here and will never recommend it.

I dined in yesterday with the hopes of a good decent meal. I ordered a Sangria (on the menu it stated the drink came with fresh fruit, as it should) but as you can see the only fresh fruit was the slice of orange. This was definitely not a sangria. Besides the Sangria I ordered an Iced tea and they said that they ran out of it.I also ordered a meat loaf with mashed potatoes and vegetables. As you can see in the picture it was very greasy. The service was almost nonexistent. All in all a very unpleasant experience.

This spot is a total surprise. If you walk in towards the back, their covered patio has an awesome view of the courts at the International Tennis Hall of Fame. It's beautiful for a lunch. They're really trying to bounce back from the Pandemic and have hired some new staff. My advice; be patient. Everything we ordered came out correct and was delicious. Plan for a little longer than normal wait, but know that it's worth it.

I don't usually post reviews after going to restaurants for events that I didn't plan, but this was an experience I feel strongly needs to be shared. We went to La Forge for my sister's rehearsal lunch. It was a roughly 50 person lunch and the place was set up nicely when we arrived. They used centerpieces from the mother of the groom, and had a great selection of drinks.
We had a raw bar and appetizers to start. The cheese board was underwhelming, with a selection of cheeses that were all similar. The raw oysters and clams were okay, but they seemed to be a little close to room

We had a large party here for about 45 people on a Thursday night. We specifically worked with Erin, the event coordinator, and Justin, the general manager. The two stars are based solely on their performance. Their response to questions, availability to speak about our event, and communication to their staff was aweful! I would never do another event there if I had to deal with either of them. It would take us 2 or 3 emails and a phone call to get them to respond to us.
As an example, we dropped the table linens off on Wednesday, along with

Our lunch was great! I ordered the Chicken Parmesan and it tasted fresh, crispy, and delicious. My family ordered Baked Cod and a Cheese Burger with a side of pico de gallo. My father who ordered the Baked Cod was so impressed by the taste that he wanted to lick the plate haha!
Will definitely come back here for lunch again when we visit the Newport Mansions next year. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!

I know we weren't their typical customers. We just got done driving a little shy of under 3 Hours for our week long stay here. The previous year's we have stayed in Rhode Island, place was always jumping. We arrived late in the day which didn't leave us much to do besides catch a Newport Gulls Baseball Game.
With that being said, we wanted something lite to eat. Just something to fill our stomachs with out making us lazy and tired. Also left us some room for good ol dirty water dog!

Swung by for lunch while walking around town. This restaurant is right next to the International Tennis Hall of Fame, and the restaurant has tables that literally line one side of one the grass courts, which was where we sat.
I got the Cobb Salad for lunch, with a side of French fries. Salad was good and the fries were very good!
Drinks were the let down here. They were out of the frozen margarita, which was listed on the menu. I've then elected to get a spicy jalapeño margarita, which was underwhelming.
Good spot if you're looking for a lunch spot with plenty of seating and decent

I had the greatest experience at this restaurant the other night. Honestly, I've never laughed so hard in my life!! We ended up sitting at the bar and the bartender we had was hilarious. She had a great sense of humor and made us feel welcomed. I think I caught her name as being Buffie. Our food was hot and fresh and the drinks were delicious. The burgers were well prepared. Buffie made this place! I wish every bartender was as attentive and friendly as she.

I've been here the first time and did not like the food. My Shephard's Pie was more a soup and I needed to ask for a bread to condense it a bit.
Then while ordering dinner we also asked to get the dessert when we are half-way but after we were done with dinner we were told that dessert is not available so we had to order only what was available. The chocolate dessert was just ok.

Terrible. It took an hour to be served food and then the "California burger" I ordered medium rare was well done to the point of being burnt. And the burnt parts were the only tasty thing about it. I literally could have gotten a better burger at a McDonalds drive-thru. Nice location next to Tennis Hall of Fame though. But ambience can't cover for bad food and bad service.

This wasn't my favorite restaurant during my stay in Newport, but it was nice. Came during restaurant week and got the short ribs. The ribs themselves were very good, but a few of the pieces of gnocchi that came with it were doughy and undercooked. The crab cake for my appetizer was great! Had a piece of Boston cream cake for the dessert, it was frozen in the middle but overall tasty.

Haven’t been to La Forge in quite a few years, but decided to go back on a Tuesday night when we just didn’t feel like cooking. And boy, are we glad we did! We ordered the scallops and salmon and they were absolutely delicious! We have spent more money for dinner in Newport for much less quality food. Will definitely be going back! The decor could use some sprucing up, but the meal was amazing.

On a recent visit to Newport, I had to kill a little time. I didn't eat at La Forge. I just sat curbside with a few drinks. The super friendly server checked on me in the most welcoming pleasant way although I only accrued a humble bill.
A really nice feature is the tray of dog treats between the flower pots. All the local canines seem to know the spot. So I did some dog watching.

Nice place with good environment.
Vegetarian menu is very limited and not much options.
Veggie burger was kind of average but my friends liked the seafood options especially calamari.
Desserts are delicious liked both the Irish bread pudding and the lava cake.
Drinks are ok..the moonshine strawberry margarita is great.

If you frequent Newport- you have probably have driven by LaForge many times and had no idea! That's my story. I was lucky enough to be taken out by my employer after touring The Elms down the street.
La Forge is right next to the Tennis Hall of Fame. Actually- walk inside and get a beautiful view of the tennis court. I hear if you are lucky enough during the summer you can eat and watch some tennis. The field is even real grass!
We were a party of about 25. We had the place to ourselves as it was a Wednesday at lunch. We had about 3 wait staff supporting our party. They were nice

Wife and I came with friends to enjoy lunch. The people were really friendly, the turkey club sandwich was awesome and I really enjoyed my lobster bisque. I would definitely be back for lunch in the future.
