Anna and her family emigrated from Greece in 1967. After several tough years, they opened the Donut Shop at the Mid Valley Mall in 1974. This small restaurant flourished until 1984 when the mall and property were sold to a large supermarket. As a result, all remaining businesses in the mall had to explore other options.
Anna, who had since been widowed, decided to take a huge leap of faith and purchase what is now Anna's Restaurant. The year was 1985. Since that time, Anna's has grown into the Newburgh landmark that it is today. Together, with her son Peter, Anna continues to grow the business with the same values and perseverance that brought her and her family to this great country of opportunity.

Services
A worthwhile stop when visiting the Hudson Valley area. The atmosphere is pleasant, warm and inviting. The food is excellent, from the gyros to chili over rice or the daily specials. Of course the staff always make you feel at home. From the owners Ms. Anna, Peter, to the employees, Ms. Rose, Kathy, Anne, Kelly, Hilary, Britney, Mr. Paul, all are very engaging, and make one feel welcome.

They wouldn't serve my black son in law because a waitress didn't like him. My son in law was in there a few days prior to buy food and they had no issue with him then when the waitress wasn't there. If you are a waitress, you have to serve everyone (as long as the customer is being respectful), even if you don't like them. The owner should be ashamed that he has such unprofessional people working there.
