Specializing in functional fitness, our gym trainers are dedicated to your fitness journey and health goals. My love for fitness started many years ago as a kid enrolled in sports such as, soccer, basketball and tennis.
We know what it takes to increase lean body mass, or lose body fat. Our job as a fitness trainers is to make sure you accomplish the goals you're aiming to achieve, through a personalized nutrition, and training program, and a fun workout! Exercising in group settings are known to help motivate fitness fanatics and Function Fitness Gym will focus on giving you safer and effective workouts.
So, first off, let me say that this has been an amazing experience training with Bayo. From day one, he helped not only with perfecting simple form and techniques during our workouts but also with the nutritional aspects that I have always had such a hard time with. In the workouts, there was a perfect balance of training with my own body weight, weightlifting and the use of machines in the gym.

The biggest things I appreciated about Function Fitness are as follows 1. The cleanliness (visit the gym and you'll see) 2. The nutrition philosophy (I'm 27 and I couldn't sh*t for months and now I'm sh*ting sometimes twice a day and my body feels more efficient, energized, and lighter than ever before) 3. Function Fitness has helped me WANT to be the best physical version of myself. And, with weekly training and consistent encouragement to make healthy adjustments to my lifestyle, I am the most physically fit I have been since high school. Bayo is awesome! He is so knowledgeable and friendly. Unfortunately, I'm not able to train with Bayo at the moment :( so this is a review for the initial consult/fitness assessment. First, he gave me a little tour of the gym. It has everything you'll need for a great workout and more. Next, we did a quick health history assessment, measured current stats (weight, BMI, BMR, etc.), and then created short-term goals. We also talked about nutrition, which he is big on. I've been training with Bayo for the last month and his attention to detail, motivational approach, holistic views on health, and positive outlook is infectious. I can't say enough about how much of an impact Bayo and his studio has had on my life so far. After college, I knew I wanted to make some serious changes in my health. As someone who grew up playing sports and doing competitive martial arts, I have always been injury prone and I knew I wanted someone to help guide me on this fitness journey instead of the regular gym experience. I truly cannot believe it, but Bayo and I are fast approaching our 1-year training anniversary. I guess time truly flies when you're having fun getting fit!

First and foremost, I'll say Bayo is super passionate and cares a lot about helping his clients. He has great energy and is inspirational without being too in-your-face.

This was my first personal training experience. I've been pretty active with other types of workouts for the past five years from hot yoga to crossfit to soulcycle, but have never quite seen the results I wanted so I decided to give personal training a try.

The best personal training experience ever! I started training just so I could start my weight loss journey. Bayo really helped me so much! Bayo is the best trainer anyone can ask for! He truly cares for your health and fitness. He's personable and has an amazing personality which is an important trait for a personal trainer to have. Jean is an amazing trainer who is great to work with! He personalized the training and nutrition plan according to my body and my health situation. He is very responsible in terms of watching over my weight and meals. When I asked him if some type of food is ok to eat, he did serious research and dug into each ingredient of that food. He is also so positive and inspiring, and has been motivating me to be more active and eat more healthy. The gym is kept clean and stays private. I just looked up when I first started training with Bayo and I didn't realize we've already passed our two year anniversary!

I'm so happy I took the leap and called Bayo to schedule our first series or sessions. I've never been an athletic or active person, but Bayo is the right balance of nice and encouraging. In between various workouts I tend to sit around too long, and it's extremely helpful to have Bayo there to push me to be stronger and faster.

First time I walked in, I talked to Bayo and he was very clear about how we would procede as a team, and what I should expect. As a skinny girl, I was training to become stronger and have a more defined body. Which I got! I definitely feel myself stronger, and I can see, overall, very positive changes.

His gym is impeccably clean! Very organized.

Today marked my 20th session with Bayo! I have been training between 1-3 times a week since April and I am extremely happy with my results! I have always been an athlete but moving further inland (I am a surfer) and a busy work schedule contributed to my weight gain. I tried months of working out on my own with no results, 11 weeks, 5 times a week! I was so frustrated. I finally had enough and found Bayo!

When I first started looking for a trainer I wasn't sure what I was looking for IN a trainer. There are so many trainers out there that I didn't know if I wanted someone super tough on me or not, but when I met Bayo I knew he was perfect.

I started out at 135 pounds and we trained together for 2.5 months. I lost 15 pounds! Bayo taught me how to use a food scale, eat well with meal prepping and proper form. I've always wanted a personal trainer, but everyone I've contacted was way over my budget. I searched and searched and found Bayo, living in the same building complex, how convenient! I contacted him and started training. He's very accommodating, motivating and really works your butt off! He's taught me how to use machines properly and gives me the courage to step out into the gym and use weights with confidence on my own: He also gives you tips on nutrition I never knew about (which is a huge plus).

I am over 50 and fabulous thanks to Alternative Fitness Training!

When I began training, I could not even do one crunch or sit-up. I was even afraid to sit on the ball without help. I was a mess! I was 60 lbs over weight, with an old back injury that I used as my excuse for not working out. The truth was, I sat at a computer 12 to 14 hours a day for work and "ate everything," throughout the day.
