We look forward to getting to know you. Good dental habits start early and have a significant impact on a child's health and happiness. Services
Some members of our staff have worked at the office since opening our doors in 2016. As the practice has grown, we have welcomed more staff to the practice. All of us, at Prairie Pediatric Dentistry, are committed to putting your child's needs first to achieve the highest level of care. Tawnya was raised in Emporia, Kansas, and, since 1993, has called Olathe home.
We're excited for your child to join the Prairie Pediatric Dentistry family! We recommend bringing your child in after the first teeth erupt or by your child's first birthday. Baby (primary) teeth play an important roll in the growth and development of your child. These teeth help your child with proper chewing, speech development and they act as a space holder for the permanent teeth.
In order to prevent dental problems, your child should see a pediatric dentist when the first tooth appears or no later than his/her first birthday. We invite you to stay with your child during the initial examination and during treatment appointments. However, there may be circumstances when we suggest you allow your child to accompany our staff through the dental experience.

I have 2 kiddos and they absolutely love going to see all the ladies at PPD!!!! As their Mom that is really important. And it's all smiles (under the masks) from the front desk, to the hygienists, to Dr. Cortes, to checkout. I truly appreciate all these wonderful ladies, so much so that I drive an hour one way to see them 😁😊😘

Dr. Emily is one of the sweetest people I have ever met and is a super gentle dentist. She and her staff make my girls feel comfortable and they are never afraid to go to the dentist. I too feel completely safe, that they are taken care of in a clean and healthy environment. Which is super important to me as I spent many years in dentistry myself! You will not regret a visit to PPD!!!

Dr.Emily and her staff were so patient and understanding. My kiddo had to have some pretty extensive dental work done. We initially tried with out the use of anesthesia but my kiddo was so anxious. We didn’t want to make his experience traumatic. We decided to go ahead and have him put under so all the dental work could be done at once compared to 7 different visits. THIS WAS THE BEST RECOMMENDATION. It took a few months for us to get an appointment date but they called if they had any cancellations. It’s hard as a parent to see your child put under but the staff prepped us very well on what
