My name is Andy Bruchey and I've been an Austin personal trainer for over 20 years and a local gym owner for the past 14 years. For over 20 years I have specialized in weight loss/gain, including the addition of quality, lean muscle mass, corrective flexibility, post injury rehabilitation, nutrition and sport specific training.
I have extensive experience working with joint problems such as ACL, LCL, MCL, PCL, meniscus and patella tendon issues ranging from macro tears, to full tears in the knees, as well as loss of cartilage issues resulting in bone on bone.

Andy Bruchey has been a top Austin personal trainer for over 22 years and founded his gym, the Austin Fitness Center back in 2007. With his passion for helping people, and a very extensive background in physiology, kinesiology, nutrition, and physical therapy, he gets his clients results. In fact, he's the only Austin personal trainer to guarantee results, or your money back!
When you've been a successful personal trainer in Austin for a long time, naturally, you will meet a great many people. When you interact with so many people, it's always interesting to learn what they do for work, hobbies, etc. I have trained professionals in seemingly a million fields.
For example, the professional athletes I've worked with have come from all kinds of different backgrounds, and play different positions as well as different sports oftentimes. There's the business professionals, the actors and actresses, the experts in silage, the scientists, the airline pilots, the ballerinas, the teachers, and so on.

When you've been an Austin personal trainer for over 20 years, as I have, you get an opportunity to meet all kinds of people.
Since you're dealing with the general public, you never really know who's going to show up to that initial consultation based on an e mail or phone call, but by far, the vast majority of the hundreds and hundreds of people I've worked with, have been wonderful and it was a joy to have the opportunity to not only work with them, but to get to know them as well.

Any time anyone reaches out to me and says they are considering personal training with me, we always sit down for a free consultation. As long as I've been an Austin personal trainer, this has been the policy. A consultation is not just free, but it's mandatory to train with me, and for several reasons.
At best, the topic of stretching has long been a topic of debate among personal trainers, physical therapists, coaches, and so on. In actuality, it's been a very divisive subject for years with some camps saying that stretching is unnecessary, while others insisting there is great value in stretching, and then, in the middle, those who were pro stretching, but were at odds with not only others, but science, as to how to go about doing it.

I've been training with Andy for a couple months and am thrilled with my results so far. Andy is a knowledgable, grounded, and jovial trainer who so far has found and corrected tension issues in both shoulders, and made great progress in fixing my posture and reducing my back pain. You'll definitely feel the burn if you decide to train with Andy. I'm on my way to being in the best shape of my life and Andy's highly focused assistance and excellent gym are the ones to thank for it!

Andy is not your typical trainer. He's very focused and knowledgeable. I heard about him before I moved to Austin and since living here I only regret that it took me 6 years before asking him for some training. I've learned an incredible amount from him and am constantly impressed with his breadth and depth of fitness/training/kinesiology knowledge. He is not a cheer you on type of trainer who puts you on the treadmill to lose 5 lbs. He is the type to recognize posture problems, weight lifting form problems and similar then put you on a path to correct them. He's great at helping find very hard

I’ve been training with Andy for about 3 months. This is one of the best, possibly the best, decisions/investments I’ve made. He absolutely knows his stuff. So far, under Andy’s guidance, I have lost 30 pounds and significantly increased my strength (wanna arm wrestle?). A couple things I never anticipated: he assessed and corrected some bad shoulder pains that have caused me issues for years, and I fully credit him with curing my insomnia. It has only been a short period, but this is the greatest I have ever felt. Go see Andy, and you can thank me later!

Andy is knowledgable and wastes no time helping you get back on track. My mother recommended Andy to me. She went to him after she broke her hip and was having trouble being able to run again. Andy has been a great help to her so when I was having back trouble that I wasn't able to work through on my own I went to see him.
I had a lengthy hospital stay that had basically caused the muscles in my back to atrophy. I was having real trouble recovering and was not able to get my strength back. No matter what I did, I'd hit a wall of pain and was set back even further. Right when I walked in the door

Andy has been training me at Austin Fitness Center more than five years, and it's been the best fitness experience I've had in more than 50 years going to gyms all over the country. He's knowledgeable in a wide range of fitness-related topics and we work not only on strength training but nutrition and cardio as well. A sample result: I ride a bicycle a fair amount (~100 mi/week in season) and a few years ago I was involved in an accident that separated my right shoulder, tore all the ligaments connecting the collarbone to the shoulder blade. I had surgery on it and it healed well but it was pretty

(This is Geoff's wife Carrie BTW) Andy Bruchey has been my Personal Trainer for over 2 years and I couldn't be more pleased! I've had other Trainers in the past here in Austin, but none that were capable of dealing with/understanding sports injuries. After recovering from a ripped calf muscle for almost a year, Andy was able to rehab my leg and build extra strength and muscle over all.
The gym is clean, has everything you need, and the members are friendly and respectful. There is no other gym I would recommend in Austin, and I've been to them all! This truly is the "hassle-free" gym in South
